"Our first venture in since the new menu was introduced. A warm welcome from Brian who showed us to our table put us at our ease. He explained she that would be over to take our drinks order, and Sophie would be looking after us throughout our meal. we have a difficult time choosing from the menu as it had all our favourites. We picked the creamy mushrooms and the duck and orange pâté for our starters. I was going to have a roast, as it sounded delicious, but I was tempted away by the sharing platter of prawns, sticky chicken, lamb koftas with humus, tzatziki and flatbread. The food duly arrived, beautifully presented with pretty edible flowers. The pâté was smooth and tasty, and the toasted bread with it was delicious. The button mushrooms were in a rich creamy buttery sauce on a slice of toast. Main courses were a triumph, brought to the table by Tom, a very pleasant young man : roast sirloin of beef, a trio with beef pork and turkey accompanied by all the trimmings, and my mixed platter.Every single element was perfect from Yorkshire puddings and bacon wrapped stuffing, to the al dente broccoli, French beans, roasted parsnips carrots and potatoes, and cauliflower cheese. All irresistible and cooked to perfection, compliments to Joe, the chef. We had a breather with a coffee, then forced ourselves to choose a pudding, a tricky task as they were all so tempting, and we plumped for strawberry trifle with extra custard and raspberry sorbet I loved Sophie, she didn’t say no to anything! double chocolate brownie, and the phenomenal mango pavlova, the prettiest dessert I’d ever seen. Happily they all exceeded our expectations with their tastes and flavours. The pink and white swirled meringue in the pavlova was flavoured with a zingy fruity flavour which was a delicious surprise to me, and the best meringue I’ve ever had. Overall, we were delighted with our visit, and we’ve rebooked for next week already."

We wanted a quick lunch and we got good service. I had a fish finger on grainy bread with fries and my husband gammon, eggs and triple fried chips. Very tasty.

I had a fantastic Sunday roast at this restaurant. Sheila provided excellent service and the food was brought out quickly. The alcoholic drinks were also served promptly. Sheila was a delight and I will definitely be returning to enjoy the great food and service again. Visualizza piatti

The menu at this restaurant is excellent, with delicious skewers and a delightful pavlova. However, I was a little disappointed with the drink selection as many items were unavailable, including some of the summer specials. It would have been helpful if this was communicated beforehand or indicated on the menus.

Our server, Sheila, was absolutely fantastic. Very friendly staff and really great food. Relaxed atmosphere but smart enough for celebrations and occasions. The new Honey Pot desert was not worth the high price. Sadly, we sat next to a window with a thick cobweb and dead creatures in it. Real shame, as the rest was great.

Came back on the train from Horsham and decided we didn’t want to cook,so decided to go to the Bosham Inn. Had a 50% off voucher. The food was superb!!. Two mains and two drinks £25. A return visit for my birthday, again another 50% off voucher. Another faultless meal and great service from Sophie. This place serves consistent food and will be back with another review. This restaurant is lovely, clean, and not dingy like some other busy places. The food was tasty, although not mind-blowing - just your standard quality pub fare. I appreciated the beer being served in a traditional jug, a nice little detail. The prices were very fair, coming to just over £110 for five main dishes and drinks. The service started off great, but we did have to wait a bit after our plates were cleared. Overall, no major issues and we would definitely come back again.

Such a lovely pub! Stopped here on our way back from Fishbourne for drinks and a bite to eat...and very glad that we did. We were acknowledged and greeted as soon as we came through the door and chose to sit outside as the weather was warm and sunny. It wasn't busy on a Monday lunchtime so finding a table was easy. Pleasant garden area, probably the only slightly negative thing is that the pub is on a main road, but everything else was just lovely. Friendly attentive staff. We ordered a couple of starters, a soft drink and a fabulous cocktail. Smoked mackerel paté and duck and orange parfait, both with sourdough toast, were duly served. The food was very nicely presented and very tasty. I ca...

"We thought you might like to know that The Fox and Hounds was awarded 5 stars on gastrohub. Here is our review from the site. Another day, another new pub, at least for me, Dad has been here before at some point in the past. This beautiful pub in the small village of Funtington, just wants you to come inside. Especially on a dreary Winter's day, when the drizzle is falling on you from a grey and solemn sky, it beckons you through its doors, in to the warmth, where you can forget about the grip of Winter and enjoy a few drinks and some hot food. The pub is much larger than it first appears, with an additional restaurant area behind the bar. Despite its size, the pub was warm, a fundamental area in pub hospitality. We examined the menu, including the specials board, and were mightily impressed. This was certainly one of the better menu's we have come across, showing a distinct flare and imagination. I had half expected the prices to reflect the ingredients and dishes on offer, perhaps rocketing in to the unacceptable bracket, but we were pleasantly surprised. Main meals averaged at £12 £14, what we would consider about right for a good pub serving high quality food. I chose piri piri chicken with spiced sweet potato and spinach, Dad picked from the specials board, putting his faith in the pulled steak inside a bubble and squeak cake. We soaked up the warm and friendly atmosphere as we waited for the food, noting the Goldilocks levels of both temperature and appropriate music. Before long our meals arrived, and it was immediately obvious that the chef has a wonderful eye for presentation. Both our plates looked stunning, so we quickly tucked in to see if it tasted as good as it looked. It did. The chicken was juicy, the sweet potato lightly spiced and tasty, and the spinach was buttery and luxuriant. Dad's bubble and squeak cake was equally perfect, leaving him unable to make any criticism. If we were to find a single fault, and I realise this is objective, we did find the portions a little small. Being the pub geeks that we are, we discussed this at some length. We decided that as a publican, there is a fine line between leaving your customers feeling short changed, and leaving them with room for a desert, thus collecting a few more penny's. We decided that they fell down just on the right side of that line, and to prove our point, we then ordered a desert. I had white chocolate and orange bread and butter pudding, Dad had an individual lemon meringue pie with blueberry compote. These were both also delicious. This is without doubt a very fine pub indeed. They have well and truly ticked all the basic boxes. The staff are efficient and friendly, and they haven't succumb to the overpricing policy which is so prevalent in many gastro pubs. There's a fine chef in the kitchen, and most importantly of all, the food is excellent. We always ask ourselves after each pub visit if we would return with friends and family. The answer in this case is a resounding yes."
