"I believe that I have the correct place here whilst writing this review. Whilst visiting Berlin we first went here for breakfast as recommended to us but they were not serving it that day and we were not hungry enough for a different meal so...just had coffee. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere of the place was lovely. It is like a cross between a pub/bar and a cafe. We did however return one evening for a meal and the food was excellent. My brother had a schnitzel with fried egg and it was huge. He really enjoyed it. I had a goulash and it was very tasty and my husband had a chilli which was also tasty. Also came with bread which was great. The barman was very friendly and efficient. We returned again on our last morning in Berlin before we ended our trip as we wanted to try the breakfast that was recommended to us, and we were not disappointed at all. It was a selection of cold meats and cheeses with bread, salad and the waitress also offered us boiled eggs which were perfectly boiled with a nice soft centre. It was beautifully presented, almost like a work of art actually. Would be glad to return and eat here again."

Very nice staff, very delicious drinks and food. I can recommend everything here. Prices are ok and parking is available on site. I like to come back to you. Until then, you go on like that.

Candlelit, warm atmosphere with beautiful wooden decor. Service has always been great; not only fast but also extremely polite. Menu has a wide variety of German/Austrian dishes. Go for the Schnitzel with Bratkartoffeln and creamed mushrooms: delicious! Also very spacious, so has never been too...loud or busy. Location is only a (max) 15 min walk along Gleimstraße from U/S-Bahn Schönhauser Allee. Really can't recommend the Schnitzel enough!

During my short stay in Berlin I was surprised by the number of small pubs' throughout the residential areas and most of them seem to be located on a corner. From my observations, it seems these places are very well attended by the locals.. with few foreigners. The Meta Cafe provided a good selection of typical German meals and also some more special Berlin selections. On this occasion, I ordered the Käsespätzle mit Zwiebeln und Kräutern, with some extra ham. The serving was very generous and was also provided with a small salad. Accompanied by the local Berliner Pilsner. The staff were very patient with my basic German language trying to understand a German menu is always fun! I really like...
