"Originally intended to have a full meal however this didn't go to plan. Service was a bit slow to start with but it was fairly busy and the waiting staff were polite and apologised for the initial delay so we were okay with this. Starters came out fine and we enjoyed the food however around 45 minutes passed and no one had been near us so we had to ask about our mains which were not ready yet. Unfortunately we had plans so needed to leave before we got the mains so paid up for what we had. Overall, we were in the restaurant for well over an hour and a half so really disappointed. The waitress was clearly embarrassed however we made it clear to her there was nothing wrong with her service but clearly an issue in the kitchen. It would have been great if this was communicated to us however it seemed they were prioritising food for delivery as we saw loads coming out the kitchen to get delivered while service all around us was clearly very slow. It might have been appropriate to pause online orders so they could catch up with serving people in the restaurant however there didn't seem to be anyone managing things. It's somewhere we'd hoped to visit again however I don't think I'd want to risk it."

"After reading the reviews, we were hoping to discover an excellent Indian restaurant. Unfortunately, this one did not meet our expectations. The starters were okay, but the main courses were lacking. The Tandoori mix was especially disappointing, and the special biryani wasn't much better. We are only giving it a 3-star rating because of the friendly staff. Dining in for dinner cost around £90-100 per person. The food quality was a 2, service was a 4, and the atmosphere was a 4."

When it gets busy, the atmosphere is lively, and the music is at just the right volume to enhance the ambiance without turning into a shouting match. Perfect! **Food:** We were there to celebrate my daughter's 30th birthday with a party of five. For starters, we tried the Summer BBQ Picanha steak, scallops, buffalo mozzarella salad, and Iberian Black Pig Char Siu. I sampled a bit of everything, and they were all delicious, with the Summer BBQ steak standing out. For our main courses, we had monkfish, three Picanha steaks, and BBQ Maple chicken—again, everything was delightful, but the monkfish was truly exceptional. Our sides included truffle chips, rooster chips, tempura broccoli, and roasted sweet corn, all complementing the meal perfectly. Desserts featured sticky toffee pudding, burnt Basque cheesecake, grilled pineapple, chocolate with white port, and a cheese selection. I only managed to try the cheese, as everyone was enjoying their desserts too much to share! We enjoyed a few expertly crafted cocktails, the Quickening Shiraz from a thoughtfully curated wine list, and some dessert wines and port to accompany our sweets—all were fantastic. The portion sizes were just right, making three courses manageable. **Service:** This is where the family-run nature of the restaurant truly shines. The service is polite, friendly, attentive, and laid-back. Our visit felt leisurely, and I never felt rushed, even when the restaurant was busy. The staff checked in on us just the right amount to ensure we were enjoying our meals, and I truly appreciated that there was no pressure to order more drinks or any upselling—just a thoroughly enjoyable experience overall. **Additional Insights:** The restaurant is reasonably easy to access, with only a small step at the entrance, and the interior is spotless and well-maintained. The stone walls add to the charming atmosphere, and the rear wall has a unique texture that invites touch—you really have to experience it yourself. The restrooms are immaculate as well. **Disclaimer:** My wife and I have visited Jack O'Bryan's several times since moving to Dunfermline, and while we consider it a special treat, we often find ourselves looking for excuses to indulge a bit more frequently than we probably should. However, this consistency in the quality of food, service, and atmosphere is why we keep returning. **Final Tips:** The menu changes seasonally, so it’s a good idea to check their website to see what’s available. "I am reviewing here after trying to give an honest and non malicious review on their facebook pages. Dont bother doing that, if they dont agree with your opinion or simply dont like it, they will delete it. The food was excellent, and for the most part the service was also very good. The service stalled when we were forgotten about and had to sit with our dirty dishes from our main course for a very long time, and wait for ages for a sweet menu. We had to attract attention from one of the waiting staff, that wasn't easy and we shouldn't have had to. We could have overlooked this minor issue but the whole experience was spoilt on arrival of the bill. We have been to many eating establishments and this is the only one that saw fit to charge 20 pence for a glass of tap water. Apparently it is a legal requirement to provide water if asked by a customer, but the business is entitled to charge for use of a container, how ridiculous. Most businesses offer the water as a courtesy, since technically it costs them nothing. Finally, it isn't very businesslike for a manager/owner? to walk around wearing shorts, unless there is some medical reason for doing so. Smarten up, treat yourself to a shirt and tie, and a pair of trousers, you'll earn much more respect that way, for goodness sake. You can use your profit from your tap water sales!!!"

"Overpriced and not as expected. Restaurant decor and ambiance was lovely. It's a well themed place and celebrates the rich history of Kushi's. Unfortunatly the eating experience did not meet the standard set by the decor. I ordered a chicken pathia, which to my dissapointment, was watery and bland. The portion of the curry was a dissapointment too and did not match the cost of the dish. The portion of pilau rice was quite small for the price too, but was nice. We ordered a garlic naan bread for the table. Again (a similar theme here), the portion was not as expected and there wasn't much flavour to the dish. The other curries our table had were ok, but we all agreed, they were not worth the price. Service was good, but we were not atteneded to enough to justify the inclusion of a service charge on the bill. I left feeling deflated after paying the bill. I didn't feel the cost reflected the eating experience at all. I wouldn't recommend eating here as there are other Fife based Indian restuarants I would go to first for better value, taste and service. Parking: Options to park in town car parks near the restuarant. Often free after a certain time of the day."
