Attended a friend's wedding reception here recently. Despite telling the couple that the place was booked until 1 we were told at half 10 that they only had a licence until 11 and that the music would have to stop. Lo and behold come 11 they cut the power to everything, including the disabled toilets and staff got very aggressive with the guests Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

My partner and I dined here last night, and I have to say, the gammon was absolutely delicious—cooked to perfection and simply delightful. My partner remarked that the hunter's chicken was the best he has ever had, which really impressed him. The prices are also fantastic, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Where do I even begin? If I could give it ten stars, I absolutely would! We ordered four beef dinners and one chicken dinner for takeaway on a Sunday. The food arrived in generous boxes, and the entire bottom was filled with meat. Alongside the meat, there were fresh carrots, cabbage, peas, swede, mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, parsnips, Yorkshire pudding, and stuffing—all topped off with more than enough gravy to smother this massive meal. I can't recommend this Sunday dinner highly enough. I will definitely be returning for more. Thank you, Celtic Lodge!

If I could give a zero review I would but sadly Google doesn't give that option. What happened to giving a good level of customer service, what happened to transparency and honesty. There was absolutely no need for the night to have been ruined but the owner was not upfront at the time of booking. We were told that the room was booked until 1am. Which was very well received, we would have stayed continued supporting a local business and the revenue would have been well received, I would have thought...... but no it was sprung on us the goalposts had been changed and music had to be stopped by 11 and everyone was expected to leave at 11.45 due to the licence, but if we were reasonable then sh...

Rude and unwelcoming management. Will advertise room hire until 1 then turn off the electricity to music and disabled toilets at 11. Apparently the onus is on the bride/booker to ASK this? Cannot deal with understandably unhappy customers and get aggressive and defensive! I posted a review on Facebook and they decided to disable reviews and remove that function so now other prospective customers cannot see these issues. Complete lack of transparency and management are letting down a beautiful venue. I would not look to book this venue as it is clear that the manager will not take accountability for any issues that arise and won’t think twice about ruining someone’s wedding reception. Edited...
