"The Cenobio of Ragusa Ibla offers a unique culinary experience, immersed in the historical and landscape context of the Iblei gardens. The first element that catches the eye is the structure of the restaurant itself: a historic building that is a pleasure for the eyes, enriched by an internal garden that gives a magical atmosphere to the place. Moving on to the cuisine, the dishes are a surprising reworking of traditional Sicilian classics, such as caponata, performed with taste and creativity. The flavour, aroma and presentation are impeccable and make each course a small journey into local flavor and culture. Not everything is perfect, though. The service, although extremely courteous, suffers due to the excessive number of tables, which makes the staff not very present during the meal. This is an aspect that needs improvement to elevate the overall experience. As for the price, it is slightly slanted upwards, and at first glance, it may not seem justified. However, with the discounts available through online booking, the value for money becomes much more balanced and acceptable. In conclusion, Il Cenobio offers a combination of high-quality ingredients, a lovely setting and friendly, if a little distant, service. A hidden gem in a peaceful setting. Hands down the best food we’ve had in Sicily by far Every single course was delicious. Creative Italian cuisine, high quality ingredients, generous portions, very well presented and accompanied by an extensive choice of Sicilian wines. The tartare and veal were some of the best we’ve ever tasted! The staff was very kind and even showed us around their beautiful gardens in the back of the hotel.
