"Background We were a team of workers from Hannover Messe (of different etnic group, but all coming from Italy), we reserved a table on this restaurant hour and a half before arriving, we clearly state that we were a company of workers, not...a group of students or whatever. We arrived at the resturant and we ordered a lot of Pasta alla Carbonara (I think and a couple of pizzas, and lot amount of beer, soon after we asked for other carbonara for who wanted more. At the end, we went to pay, obviously as we were a company, with credit card. Only at that moment, they told us that credit card wasn't working. We had with us any kind of card, VISA,MASTERCARD,AMERICAN EXPRESS, and debit cards with Maestro, none were accepted by the guy. Most funny thing, is that he wasn't even really trying to accept the cards, as everytime we were giving him another card to try out, he was sliding it upside down with the magnetic stripe clearly on the wrong side. At the end, we had no other choice but to pay cash, giving us no opportunity to relieve the expense for our company, and giving him the opportunity to do under the counter. Even if the case they really had a fail for the credit card, you HAVE to inform the customer before providing them any kind of service, especially for big groups. PS A Carbonara is not made with Ham, it needs cheek lard or at least bacon, and carrots makes absolutely no sense in the plate."

The restaurant is small and cozy, and the service greets you in Italian when you enter. The food was ok, the serving was adequate, so it gives you everything you expect from this type of restaurant, but nothing more than that. So if you want...a pasta and you don’t want any surprises enjoy your meal at Das Abendmahl without any worries!

I had...a very tasty salad with goat cheese and a honey glaze. Then I sampled one of this week's pasta specials: red fettuccini with sirloin tips, avacado, and an orange sauce. Is that Italian? It seemed more Fusion to me, but it was absolutely delicious. Rounded out with a nice Montepulciano. Worth a return visit!
