I believe The Fox Hounds serves the best Sunday roast. I adore this pub overall. The atmosphere, the service, and the food are excellent.

I had fish and chips with minted peas at this restaurant. The batter on the fish was light and the fish itself was delicious. The chips were also excellent.

Really helpful and accommodating staff. Excellent service. Lovely food. The atmosphere rating was a 3 when we went as there was a very loud group of children and parents there. I would think the atmosphere would be lovely otherwise.

We had a family walk on this sunny Sunday over to Lyndhurst for a satisfying Sunday lunch. The Fox and Hounds a large pub in the centre of the village. My partner is gluten free and we decided to stay for food after enjoying a couple of drinks. We were impressed by the help we received when we asked about non gluten options and a lovely young lady came and marked the gf options on the menu plus the options that could be adapted for him. We ate here twice and both times the food was lovely. The pub is dog friendly and has clearly designated area where we could sit in the bar, bowls, blankets and dog treats are available.

During our stay in Lyndhurst between Christmas and New Year's, we decided to dine at F&H as it was conveniently located near our accommodation and had a cozy atmosphere. The overall vibe of the pub was great, with a charming country pub feel as soon as you walk in. If we had only stopped in for drinks, our review would have been more positive. Unfortunately, the food was below par considering the price. The service was also slow, with only two staff members working in the restaurant.
