"We visited on a Thursday lunchtime for a family get together lunch. We have all been to The George many times over the years but none of us had visited for quite a while; certainly since the new owners arrived. The building hasn't changed at all right down to the decor but having said that, it is an historic building so there are limited options regarding decor and it did look clean. Two of us had starters which were nicely presented and tasty. For the main course three chose from the specials and had the belly pork and I had the salmon; all the meals looked good on arrival at the table and we all thoroughly enjoyed them. I had the sticky toffee and date pudding for afters and it was gorgeous, worth going back for! In all, it was a very nice lunch that we all enjoyed. We didn't feel at all rushed even though we didn't leave until almost 3pm. We are happy to recommend."

Absolute gem for Sunday Lunch. Atmosphere and ambiance just perfect. The food was outstanding and service excellent; nothing was too much trouble. My friends and I will return regularly.

Just spent a few ways staying in leadenham. Visited the George on our last evening. The staff made it feel special and the food was divine. Perfect meal. Compliments to all at the George. If we pass again it will be my first port of call

We went here for a family birthday lunch, having not visited before. We were disappointed with the service (or lack of! , as the waiter was very slow, and we were left for long periods throughout the meal even though there was just one other table in use. The food was ok, but we won’t be going back as the level of service affected our enjoyment of the overall experience there.

So very sad to say as my mum lived locally about 20 years ago I wanted to see some of her history. My grannie said she would drive me here, the chef was smoking outside leaning against the wall on our arrival. We were quite hungry but were a little apprehensive about the hygiene.Ordered hot food in the hops it would not of been contaminated.Fish and chips were nice, when we eventually received them .Nice selection of drinks. Staff lovely.

In our arrival for a lunch stop was the chef out side smoking in his uniform not very hygiene standards, we wanted a snack so we all ordered sandwiches which took for ever to come, one of the paninis was totally burnt and the beef was awful in it, the cheese one how ever was thrown together with big horrible slabs of cheese in. We never was asked if our food was ok we had waited that long we had to rush and leave. The pub/hotel is looking very tired I won't be going back there very disappointing.

Came here for dinner, booking beforehand. They were busy with a large group so had to go at 6pm.Lovely staff were very helpful throughout. 3 hand pulled beers were available and tasty. We had a main course only with a bottle of wine. The choice is amongst the classic pub food fish and chips, sausage, steak, gammon, pies, spaghetti Bol, lasagne and vege versions. There was limited vegetables peas only, but when it came it was very tasty and well cooked. It was very good value and if you want cheaper food, they have a happy hour where certain meals are half price so well, less than £10 for a main meal !!Not special, but if you want a good cheap meal in a nice place , come here!

"Very good. this renovated and updated gastro pub has a beautiful, high-end feeling, without too posh. the personal is pleasant, real and well maintained. good drink selection! music selection didn't seem fit, but not extraordinarily. eating is exceptional, but, based on some personal preferences, there were slightly smaller disappointments with each dish. all were presented beautifully! the scallop starter was perfectly cooked, but there was an unexpected sticky texture on the sea red side. the chilis needed something sweet to balance them, but it was a nice warm pop. the acid from the grapefruit mixed with the petersilie mayonnaise drizzle, but both were delicious. some either flash-frozen or dry germinated greens gave beautiful texture, and the dish as a whole was beautiful. the duck ice starter was rich without being hard. slowly boiled (inspiring sous vide,) the egg was perfect. it was on a bed of slowly baked cheekwange, which is longing! some picking mushrooms have also added beautiful acid contrast. the brioche disc on which everything sat was not my favorite, but again can be personal preference. it seemed too thick, dense and sweet for the court. either would have been a nice sourded or an airy crawling cut my choice. again a very tasty dish. the healbutt main was absolutely wonderful! in butter lubricated, with fennel, white asparagus, a butter sauce with raw and squid-ink pasta. all with dill fronds. only small critique was the toughness of the tips of the braided fennel without knife, which is suitable for cutting through. a unique and very pleasant experience! it was great."
