"Young girls are very unprofessional towards male partners, didn’t acknowledge females of the party at the start, or giving menus etc continued to stare intently at males any time at table. The males felt very uncomfortable and after tonight my partner doesn’t want to return. We ate in both restaurants this month, Sat 13th and 31st Jan, same experiences with two young waitresses with blonde hair. It has been commented in our work circles and wider friends of similar experiences. It’s a pity as the food is beautiful but just a very strange atmosphere and when working professionals, it is nice to enjoy an evening out. We have never experienced that level of unprofessionalism elsewhere. I rarely leave a poor review but would go elsewhere for service."

"I have dined with family on a number of occasions at Castle Kitchen but this time around it wasn’t the best. Myself and 3 other family members went out to celebrate an early birthday by having dinner together. The ambiance and decor in the restaurant...is superb and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. I cannot fault them at all! Myself and one other family member ordered the Cod dish for our main. My cod had five pieces of bone inside of it whilst my fellow family members dish had none. I have left the picture below. The rest of the meals for the table where fabulous. I addressed the bone issue with the waiter and he immediately apologised and took it straight to the chefs for them to see. Again, I cannot fault the service. The waiter was more than generous and took my cod dish off the final bill. Afterwards, all four of us shared dessert, we ordered the Cherry and Tonka bean cheesecake. The presentation was good but the taste was extremely overpowering with the cherry sauce on top. In addition, the actual selection of desserts on the menu wasn’t good either. I personally found the meal a little pricey for the standard of food received. All in all I would be careful of what you order at Castle Kitchen!"

"I booked afternoon tea for my husband and my parents' inlaw today. I have to say I was utterly impressed from start to finish. The grounds are immaculately kept with brightly coloured flowers and manicured trees dotted around. Inside this guesthouse is such a treat for the soul featuring many interesting antiquities and labouring under what I assume is quite like a Victorian interior design that epitomizes opulence. I was delighted to find that everything served to us was made/created/baked/grown on site and prepared just for us! Talk about VIP treatment. Everything was delicious and bursting with flavour from the fresh sandwiches to start and warm freshly baked scones. The sweets were delectable and plentiful. My favourite were the raspberry tarts! The blueberry muffins were drizzled in white chocolate, and the panne cotta was on point ! Which is very rare to come across even in 5 star hotels. Overall, this guest house is a true hidden gem ! I this was the best afternoon tea I have ever had !! We can't wait to go back to experience their dinner menu. The staff were all amazing and very helpful and friendly. They made us feel so welcome and valued. Thank you to Geraldine and Gérard for making my husbands birthday very special."

"Went to Cafe Tosca recently for lunch before going to watch the local football team in Ballymena and to be honest it was ok but I think improvements could be made to make it a bit better. First off the cafe is uniquely decorated with...an interior consisting of white walls and lots of pink chairs, so if you like pink this is the place to go. The Cornation Chicken, Pineapple Cheese toastie was very nice but I do feel a bit cheated as the side salad is very minimal considering your paying around £5 for only a sandwich and salad. I also think the cafe could look at what other cafes are doing by adding Tortilla Chips or even a big spoonful of Couscous. Overall it is around average for me but with a few more improvements I would consider it much better."

"I have been to Galgorm for afternoon tea several times over the years, but my recent visit with my mom left me feeling disappointed. While the service was excellent, the food didn't quite meet our expectations considering the price. The savory options were tasty, but there was only one sandwich. The sweet treats seemed store-bought and we ended up leaving most of them uneaten. The menu also lacked some of the previous items, such as miniature soup or trifle/cheesecake. The conservatory, which had initially impressed me with its beautiful floral arrangement and decor, now appeared a bit tired, including the furniture. Overall, I left feeling unsatisfied and still hungry. For £42.50 per person, I expected more."
