"First, I want to apologize for my photos; they didn’t turn out quite as I hoped. The dining room was stunning, beautifully dimmed for a romantic atmosphere, and provided the perfect blend of comfort and style—yet, unfortunately, my camera didn’t capture that well. So, keeping that in mind, I took my photos, boosted the saturation quite a bit, sharpened them a little, and adjusted the brightness. We recently dined in the dining room at Whatley Manor, and it was absolutely heavenly."

"I have never felt robbed after visiting a restaurant before, I did last night. Service was poor and slow. Although some staff were good two had attitude with everything they did. The Steak was terrible. Hard to cut despite being medium rare. For the price I could have bought 3 and cooked to a far higher standard. The entire menu is overpriced for what it is. I won't be visiting again. Lack of atmosphere and to hear who I assume is the manager at the bar saying they are too busy for more or something along those lines. It was nowhere near full and you could see they were struggling. There was 6 of us and it was the biggest waste of £200 ever. Edit: forgot to mention the menu didn't make any sense, banoffee pie said it had a digestive base but it they used rich tea. So weird."

"we were for a night and booked for dinner. nice cozy bar with good friendly service. the restaurant layout and design was excellent. many good options on the menu. Both courses were beautifully presented and very tasty. our waitress, freya was very friendly, confident and attentive. the breakfast was lovely; again, very good interesting options. all eating was over our expectations; Thank you, chief. very nice spacious room with roll-top bathroom. we recommend to mount a long dressing mirror."

"I have always been a huge fan of The Birdcage, and the regular staff are always delightful. Since being diagnosed with coeliac disease last year, I have been eating gluten-free. The gluten-free pizza is delicious (5-star worthy), but they do not offer a small size option and charge an extra £1 for the gluten-free base, which feels like a bit of a disappointment. During a lunch outing with friends, we all ordered the smaller £9 lunch deal pizzas, but I ended up having to pay £16 unexpectedly, as they did not inform me at the time of ordering that the smaller size was not available in gluten-free (or about the additional charge), and only mentioned this when the food was brought to the table and I pointed out the mistake. I really enjoyed the taste and texture of the pizza and will return for dinner, but I will likely avoid pizza lunches in the future as it feels quite unfair. The falafel, which is also gluten-free, is delicious as well!"

I highly recommend stopping by if you're anywhere near Cotswold or Bath.
