Grill 16 - Piatti

I've eaten here 3 times during my stays at the Marriott. The food is quite good but the menu is very limited to mostly big cuts of red meat. There is 1 seafood dish and 1 vegetarian dish. It is a bit pricey but not...unreasonable considering the portions. Service is OK, not great.

Our choice of restaurant this evening was spot on! Nestled on the banks of the Neckar, Grill 16 did not disappoint! As the sun set slowly on a warm summer evening, we were delighted with good service, great wine, and a steak that melted in...the mouth while all the while, riverboats slipped past silently. What a wonderful evening!

This place is at the Marriott hotel where we stayed. We ate here for breakfast and dinner. Both meals were delicious but a little on the pricey side. It was worth it though the food was very good. The only down side was the wait...at dinner. We were seated right away but waited at least an hour for food and drink. The scrambled eggs are served as a brick. If you ask for fresh without a liter of oil in the pan the “chef” gets grumpy about ruining his pan. How can you screw up eggs? Its the first culinary step above boiling water. Got burger...at for dinner and asked for medium rare for my 19 EU burger. Was told “our frozen patties can only be served well done for safety”. It arrived with 5mm of burnt crust on one side. Eat here if you have to but better choices nearby.

We were a party of 9 people and everyone enjoyed their meals. some of us ordered the steaks and they said it was really well cooked and fresh. I ordered the salmon and it was perfect! we also shared a few starters and salads which...were really good too and a selection of deserts that were not disappointing. The service was really good and we really enjoyed a perfect evening.They also offer a buffet dinner with many options and very economic but we were more in to ordering a la carte.

We had a rough 36 hours and stopped in the Marriott for a nights stay. We have favorite restaurants in Heidelberg but it was pouring rain and we were very tired so we gave Grill 16 a try. Average, is being kind. After initial drink...orders when we wanted something I had to say ‘Hello’ as no wait staff were in sight. My steak was close to medium rare but I was so hungry I let it go, my wife’s steak was very far off the mark and when the brought a new filet it had been pounded down so it would cook quicker, not perfect but edible, but a sad meal at 37 euro; plus they appeared to have put her potatoes in the microwave to keep them warm as they we warm but mushy. the restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere and we sat at the window for a view of the river. it was a nicer and more pleasant place to sit, which was far enough from others diner to my dinner talk in...peace that eating itself was fantastic. we both have the steak and the pommes that were perfectly cooked. also the desert was great, we went with the cheesecake and it took off the meal. the best part of the experience was the waiter. we had alexis maestre who had an eye for details that made the experience great. he was very professional and friendly! he brought us the perfect wee and explained the process and had a slight and pleasant talk. also his eye for the detail was great, I dropped my...

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and we were seated by the window for a view of the river. It was a nice and enjoyable spot to sit that was far enough away from other diners to be able to enjoy my dinner conversation in...peace. the food itself was fantastic. We both got the steak and fries which were perfectly cooked. The desert was great as well, we went with the cheese cake and it topped off the meal. The best part of the experience was the waitstaff.
