Die Menukarte ist nicht sehr gross, doch das angebotene Essen ausgezeichnet. Das Personal ist stehts freundlich, ohne aufdringlich zu sein.

Das Personal war freundlich und zuvorkommend, alle Gerichte waren frisch köstlich und zum grössten Teil hausgemacht. Wir werden es wieder besuchen, wenn wir mal in der Nähe sind.

A good quality grotto (Ticino restaurant). a little cold welcome. But an appetizing food and wine list. efficient service. I will return with pleasure, especially in summer for lunch or dinner on the terrace. Try the delicious polenta.

Wir haben über Tripadvisor das Scalinata entdeckt und bereits nach 13.30 Uhr ausgezeichnetes, frisch zubereitetes Mittagessen in Kürze serviert bekommen.Der gemischte grüne Salat in der grossen Schüssel schien frisch aus dem Garten zu sein. Der Roastbeefteller mit gebratenen Kartoffeln: erstklassig. Und zum Abschluss ein perfekter Espresso! Sehr freundlicher Service und entspannte Tessiner Ambiance. Wir kommen wieder!

Wir haben das Grotto Scalinata mehr zufällig bei Tripadvisor entdeckt. Bereits bei unserem ersten Besuch wurden wir verwöhnt und haben deshalb beim kürzlichen Tessinbesuch das Scalinata wieder aufgesucht und wurden wieder ausgezeichnet bedient. Das Essen ist authentisch und sehr fein zubereitet. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist ausgezeichnet und der Hauswein sehr gut. Der Service ist freundlich und äusserst angenehm. Wir können das Grotto Scalinata sehr empfehlen.

Uns hat der Besuch des Grotto Scalinata ausgezeichnet gefallen. Als Vorspeise ein gemischter Salat (sehr frisch) in der großen Schüssel für zwei. Als Hauptspeise Bandnudeln mit Kaninchensauce oder als Spezialwunsch für Vegetarier mit Steinpilzen. Auch die Gnocchi mit Sauce Bolognese waren sehr fein. Zum Dessert Panna Cotta mit frischen Beeren oder Creme Caramel. Die Preise sind sehr fair und die Bedienung aufmerksam und herzlich. Die Gartenterasse unter Reben lädt zum Verweilen ein. Wir kommen wieder.

We had dinner at Grotto Scalinata. From the beginning we were greeted by a very welcoming waiter which was attentive to out table all evening. We ordered the day special: entrecote with fresh mushroom and risotto and the food exceeded our expectations. It was simply delicious, home made and we could taste that fresh ingredients were used. The menu offers an interesting choice of Ticino region dishes and the prices are reasonable. The ambience of the grotto is very nice and from the outside terrace you can see the Lago Maggiore. We will definitely come back.

The Scalinata has been in our lives for thirty plus years. It has wonderful memories. This typical grotto has been run by the Balemi family ever since I 've know it and some more. Today Livia and Marina supervise its running. I would say it has had a few tough years recently adjusting to a changing world, age catching up with the sisters and keeping up the standards. With renewed help from two Chefs it has emerged back as offering good food. As we were a party of three we each chose something different, partly to test, partly to remember and compare.
