What a great place this is to eat in Dawlish. This family run business is great with great staff and a great menu. We opted for 2 Nepalese dishes, chicken and lentil and goat and potato curry with rice and bread and a side of onion bhaji all of it tasted delicious with no greasy film or aftertaste. A must try if you are in Dawlish or the area

We came up from Cornwall and had dinner here last night. It was our 1st visit and we absolutely loved it. Staff are superb. Very friendly,helpful attentive and welcoming. The food is good value for money,high quality tasty and moreish. The venue is spotlessly clean and very tastefully decorated. We will definitely be back when we next come to Dawlish and would highly recommend

Camping in Dawlish and decided to treat ourselves one night. This was recommended and I have to say the service, food , portions were all excellent. If you asked me if value for money, I’m not so sure as it is very expensive and I have had just as good an experience elsewhere for a lot less. However, if you are away in a new location for first time and it is quaility you are after- I would have no concerns recommending this restaurant.

We have had takeaway from the Gurkha 3 or 4 times. We started to order from them as the standards had dropped at our old Indian in Teignmouth. We have ordered an array of different dishes from really spicy to very mild. We have tried many of their sides starters and naans. The food has always been top notch, and delivery prompt and on time. Only remembered to write this review as I have just placed another order for delivery this evening. Highly recommend

From the moment of booking right through to paying the bill, we felt thoroughly looked after. Nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel very welcome, fantastic customer service AMAZING vegan menu (all 4 of us with 2 children aged 11 and 13) had a wide range to choose from. Every dish had a perfect balance of spices and texture. Delicious! The staff gave great advice on portion size and how much to order. All staff were very professional and extremely friendly. Lovely atmosphere and music with traditional art on the walls. A wonderful evening. Thank you all

Ordered food on line ,love Indian food ,prices dearer than most London Indian takeaways restaurant,no problem we gave it a try wow probably the worst Indian food we've ever had ,bland tasteless food ,nan breads were ok wife's chicken Tikka was awful ,enemic looking chicken ,served with no mint sauce or salad ,but lots of tasteless onions not pilao rice ,coloured rice sag aloo like a green oily mush ,,garlic chili vegetable bland and tasteless ,feel gutted ,don't mind paying extra for good food ,but nearly forty pound for two people,without starters ,bearing in mind this was a takeaway

We had a delicious meal at this restaurant and it was made even better by our lovely waiter Sanjeet. He was so friendly and helpful with ordering. We both had delicious curries and shared a starter. The chicken was so tender it fell apart and the sauces were gorgeous. We were even more fortunate that we happened to eat there on carnival night which was a lovely surprise. When the floats started coming past the window we asked to go outside and watch the procession. They were happy for us to go outside and watch and trust that we would return to pay our bill. Such a lovely atmosphere and we would definitely return. Thank you Sanjeet and the team!

Booked this as an anniversary dinner.The service was 5 star, the speed, accuracy and temperature of the food served was exceptional. Exceedingly good value for money, the front of house gent gave us an anniversary surprise, although anniversary was only mentioned whilst we ate, so he had no time to prepare anything. The food was correctly prepared, cooked and the spices were tongue tingling. Would recommend this restaurant, a pleasurable experience and the quality of food was outstanding, a 11 out of 10 on all aspects of our visit. Went here with great expectations due to previous reviews, what a huge disappointment! Firstly the poppadoms came out way too quickly and turned out to be stale so sent them back- not a good start. Mains came out after quite a long wait, Everything continued downhill from then. All dishes were very bland, I’m not just talking lack of chilli , there was just no depth of flavour to anything. We love our curry’s and have eaten in some of the best curry places around the Midlands and in London so we know what is good and what is rubbish.
