"Ah! – what a nice evening we had here! We – that was me with my family two kids and my father in law from Prague and my inlaws from London, were visiting the place between XMass and New Year. Since I work...in the vicinity and we had some nice lunches there nowadays they are only open in the evenings – too bad… I knew the place. La Casserole is offering simply the best mix of French and North African Arab cuisine I know of in Berlin. Here our evening delight: All eight of us were easily convinced to have the menu of the evening. An excellent AmuseGueule parsnip mousse and a small lamb noisette, StartersPlate “Aux delicés Mediterranee” my favourite: the Tabulé which was – pardon me, friend – better than my Arab friend’s mothers, a horrific venison deer main dish the sauce with a bit of maroon syrup – delicious! and an simply sensational Dessert plate: There was a figuealmond dish that must be traditional to Morroco or Tunesia which was just out of this world! The Mousse aux Chocolate white and brown was great of cause but this figuealmond stuff was just something I have never had before. Beyond such outlandish plaisirs: My rather traditional father in law from bohemia had the duck with red cabbage and kale with potato dumplings and – while coming from the dumpling headquarters of the world – was more than pleased. The whine we had with this was a Pouilly Fume I cannot have red sorry and a Cabernet Sauvignon for my sister in law. All wine drinkers were happy and the beer and coke fraction on the table was – in their humble ways – also pleased ; All of this might sound pretty straight forward, but simple things become special by care taken on preparation and presentation. Our evening was in both aspects outstanding! Who wants to know, how two cultures French and Arab can enrich each other and third central European, will find in “La Casserole” the right place. Thanks we’ll be back soon! P.S.: If I might have a whish regarding the wines: Please consider having some of the more decent german wined – e.g. from Palatinate vineries – in your cellar. They would go excellent with your dishes and are much more reasonably priced then equivalent quality french bottles. P.P.S.: To whom it might concern and on the danger of talking about money which is of cause a touchy subject: The total price per person for this evening was less than €"

We've lived and visited in Steglitz and have dined La Casserole a few times ... the menu has an intriguing variety: spicy lamb sausages, for example ... served with two types of sauce for the couscous: a semisweet and one with plenty of bite....The wine list has a European variety of red. I found this restaurant accidentally, and I am so happy that I did! I dined on Monday evening, which is obviously quiet, but the place had about half of the tables full. Menu is not too long, but sufficient. Vegetarian dishes are delicious and the...fish was so good that for a moment I thought I had landed to Reykjavik to one of the best fish restaurants. The restaurant is a bit off the beaten path for tourists, but if you live in Berlin or are staying on the western side of the city is definitely worth a trip. It is very close to the Rathaus Steglitz stop on the so...it is very easy to get to. The food is a mix of FrenchNorth African cuisines, and is extremely well done. The staff is very helpful and friendly, but the restaurant does get very busy especially considering its location. The ExBerliner magazine also has a very helpful review of the restaurant, if you need more information. Prices are about Euros for a main course

Very cozy place with good quality food and friendly staff. As it is quite popular I would definitely recommend booking a table beforehand. Also, when it get crowded it’s really really hot inside! So rather dress like an onion so when it gets too hot...you can take some layers off ; I would have loved to get recommendations on the wine menu, our waiter didn’t really know much about the different wines. Foodwise we tried the burrata which was lovely. We also had fresh oysters which were ok there i would have loved some kind of vinaigrette or something to put on top for more taste. La Casserole is near my office in Berlin. I walked passed this place a number of times and decided to give it a try last Wednesday noon. The interior is much better decorated than I have expected from a restaurant in this neighborhood. The waitress...is friendly. Services are a bit slow though. The foods offered here are pretty good. I ordered white asparagus, frog legs, and pork chop. The asparagus plate was hugh. There were pieces of very large size asparagus. Very nice! The frog legs were also well prepared. In fact, this is one of the better place I have tried across the world. The pork chop is not bad. Not standing out as well as the other dishes though. Overall, food quality is very go...
