We were staying in a hotel nearby and thought we would give it a try. Nice atmosphere and the staff were very friendly. I tried this as it was next to my hotel. The interior setting is lovely and the food is okay. The thing that annoyed me is I ordered the Caprese salad, which is mozzarella , tomato and basil. what I received was no basil but...rocket leaves instead, no explanation. I asked why, apparently the kitchen didnt have an basil. I so feel an Italian restaurant with no fresh basil is like McDonals with no burgers. Its not on. Our evening started off sweet with generally good service but ended VERY sour... my partner ordered a beer, and as I don’t drink anything with ‘fizz’ I ordered a large bottle of still water. The waiter looked at me and made me uncomfortable for what...to him was a cheap choice. The food I couldn’t fault. Then it takes a turn for the worse. We weren’t given a bill, we were asked to go up to a screen with the total, and pay cash which rang alarm bells.
