"This restaurant is a nice little gem tucked away in the back-streets of the Montparnasse area where we are staying. My dad said he wanted "French" food, so I was a little hard-pressed to really find a place since I don't really know how to define "French" food if it's not Provençal specifically. In any case, we looked up places near the hotel and found Osmoz. We were greeted with smiles at the door and felt the warm atmosphere from start to finish as our waiter treated us with the utmost courtesy and respect as we stumbled through appallingly bad French. He quickly turned to English and made pleasant conversation about where we were from. Our Order: 2 Sirloin Steaks with Fries and 1 Sea Bass with Mashed Potatoes with 1 bottle of chardonnay to share.Pretty standard fare, I would say, but the effort and care that goes into the experience here was truly remarkable. The Breakdown:-Food: pretty good! The beef was a touch simple for my taste, I would have spiced it up a little differently but that's partly due to my background and exposure to lots of different styles of cooking Sirloin. Potatoes were phenomenal....I mean, they're just fried potatoes, right? Wrong. These were little pillows of heaven. Crispy on the outside, curved (ever so slightly) and lusciously soft and fluffy on the inside. I know I'm going into ridiculous detail on the potatoes here, but you have to try these...they're magnificent. My dad said he loved the Sea Bass (he originally wanted Salmon, but I guess the catch of the day was Sea Bass). Flaky and steamy on the inside, with a nice char on the outside. -Service: wonderful -- despite my concern on the meat, it was all made up for by the sheer attention to detail and care the folks here give to their clients.-Location: a bit off the beaten path, but only a few minutes off the main drag.Verdict: I think we're going to hit this place up again before we leave!"

Accueil agréable. Cuisine sans surprise dans la présentation mais somme toute agréable. Mais le vin en pichet (un côte de Blaye selon le serveur!!) était cher et très moyen. Nous n'y retournerons pas.

While exploring on our first day in the Monparnasse 14 Abr. district we were not ready for a big meal. We found this lovely, local bar with a great wine selection (the house red was great) and they communicated with enough English to make us a perfect and excellent cheese board. They gave us about six types of cheese. We enjoyed getting to know them. Looks can be deceiving. This place was excellent.

Arrivés avec un bon Groupon, nous n'avons rien retrouvé de l'intitulé du menu : le macaron de foie gras est en réalité une tranche de foie gras bon marche entourée de demies tranches de pain de mie grillées ; la brochette de magret est un morceau de magret accompagné d'une purée. Quant au fondant, il sort du congélateur. Aucune recherche de presentation. Sans compter que nous avons eu les plats servis à la vitesse de la lumière. Enorme déception ! Certes nous avions un coupon groupon mais cela ne valait pas le prix payé.

Mangé en couple un soir sur base d'un bon Groupon à 29,90 €. Bon accueil du jeune serveur. Repas très correct pour le prix payé et pour Paris, mais qui aurait été beaucoup trop cher pour 34,50 € par personne. D'ailleurs, le menu présenté pour le choix n'affiche pas de prix ! Plats qui ne correspondaient pas forcément à l'intitulé sur le menu ( le macaron de foie gras est un médaillon et j'ai mangé de biens meilleurs foies gras au restaurant - pas fait maison ! / la brochette de magret était un magret - mais la cuisson était bonne, comme demandé ). Avis mitigé. Ambiance musicale sympathique avec des habitués côté bar.
