"We headed into a park and past a police station as we took a wrong turn on our way to finding Osteria No1. Spotting the sign with an 'ah, right', we were welcomed with a faint smile and seated next to a lone German man wearing an Arsenal jersey. A group of small children sitting nearby chanted the same refrain over and over again, but the German gooner appeared nonplussed, so we tried to follow suite. Our bespectacled waiter had a wizened appearance and I wanted to find out more about him. I imagined him serving an art house actor or auteur in the days of black-and-white. Instead I tamely pointed to a spinach pizza on the menu. My companion ordered a calzone. Parents of chanting German children tried in vain to take down the decibels, taking one outside to play on a scooter, middle-aged Arsenal fan ignored the world and the afternoon drifted along. The pizza tasted as if the chef had used fresh, i.e. non-refrigerated, toppings, the base was less crispy than is common on the high street but the dough seemed of a high standard. The calzone was more of a monster, again easy on the fork but also on the taste buds.We left the Osteria with the power of hearing intact - just. I felt the place was still something of an enigma after our meal, but maybe this is how some travel experiences should be."

Yesterday I had dinner with my partner in this restaurant! Pleasant atmosphere and music on the back round..The food was tasty but a little bit heavy for a dinner..It was also expensive..

We had a very nice dinner here - friendly staff and great food. The place was very busy and the service a bit slow to start with but understandable given the number of people. The thin crust pizza was excellent with some great toppings. A good wine selection as well! Visualizza piatti

lunch with ok, but the service was a bit off...drinks order took a while, waitress poured wine for one guest to taste and after he said ok to pour she poured for everyone but him. The food was ok, gnocchi was tasty but not much of it, quinoa salad ok. Not much to write home about really, just OK.

Used to like place. Food is nice. Terrace lovely. But lunch menu with 15% occupation taking an hour - absolute no go - especially if your told you oughta wait another 15 minutes. With a waiter attitude of shut up and wait. Never again - I'm very disappointment as at the price class I do expect service and in this case a sincere apology for such a delay.

we waited two hours for pizza and pasta, which at the end we didn't even get at the same time. the kids were the last ones to become their food. the waiter was really arrogant, he didn't accept our complaints and never apologized. as a matter of fact, the food was absolutely not worth such a long waiting. there are lots of nice italian restaurants in berlin, where the food and the ambiente are really worth a visit. In the summer I wanted a place with garden in the open air in Kreuzberg and found the excellent place and really enjoyed the food as well...they were setting up the screen for the European Cup so it will be possible to see the games as well and its a very big place though its possible to eat indoors as well and its a lovely space with very friendly people an the owner Piero is a legend for the last 30 or 40 years here I gather....Stringly recommended also for great selection of wines...very fine Italian food with really Italian cooks

Lovely evening spent at the Osteria No. 1 in Kreuzbergstrasse. It's an authentic embassy of italian food. It's not just lovely and genuine food but it also reminds me of italian osterias and trattorias. The garden in the back is just amazing and people are really friendly and accommodating with our requests. Food was good. Not the best meal I've ever had but very nice flavors and real italian ingredients. Good wine choice. Absolutely recommended to whoever wants to enjoy a genuine italian experience on German soil. Go during the summe and sit outside in the garden!
