Poached eggs on granary toast with mushrooms became hard boiled eggs on white toast with no mushrooms. Oh and they were cold. No apology when raised or offer to resolve. Decent pot of tea. Price per person: £1–10

Nice café. Looked to be a favourite stop off for local hikers and dog walkers during the day. And then a popular bar in the evenings. Good value, nice food. Ordered a small plate of chicken pieces with aoli and salad. Chicken was frozen shit that you can buy from Iceland. Salad was 1 piece of lettuce that went soggy from all the oil in the chicken. Aoli had yellow jelly on the top as if it had been left out in its ramekin for hours before serving. I wish I’d gone to KFC At 1pm they still had breakfast menus on the table and not lunch menus. It’s a real shame that some of the staff have no concept of customer service. Its a great location and pleasant bar, but they really do lack customer focus. A simple example was this evening. I asked for a pint of lager and asked for a packet of peanuts the female server was welded to the till and would not move along the bar, to see if she had any peanuts available, (before taking payment) so she simply responded by saying “you need to go and look in the bowl on the end of the bar and see for yourself” I enquired “you want me to go a check and not you” her response was “yes I would”.
