"Your restaurant came highly recommended and the food and wine was absolutely superb. Unfortunately this is where the great experience ended as we have never been made to feel so uncomfortable in a restaurant by the people serving us, to the point that we couldn't wait to pay the bill and leave! We were the first table in the evening at 5pm and were seated right by the bar but we struggled to get eye contact with the staff who were either chatting behind the bar or staring into space. At no point did they ask us if everything was ok or if we wanted another drink. We tried to engage them in some chatter when they served us but to no avail. I don't know if in someway we offended them but we really could not work out what we had done wrong to be treated this way. Unfortunately we will not be returning, which is a shame as the food is excellent. Fortunately our evening was not completely spoiled as a visit to the local community centre in Nairn found us invited to a Ceilidh and a very warm welcome and fun evening."

"Hugely disappointed with Sun Dancer, we’re in Nairn for 3 nights visiting from Edinburgh, we booked two nights at the Sun dancer as we’d visited and enjoyed dinner last year. Tonight was so disappointing, it was dire. I had the fish and chips, it should have not left the kitchen, not sure what quality control the chef has in place but any decent chef would not send out a dish with chips under cooked and fish with batter that was soggy and bland! I’m not sure if the fish had been frozen and the chips certainly suggested they were frozen. When you are in a party of 4 you don’t want to spoil the atmosphere by complaining but I ate little and did mention to the waitress when the plates were taken, her response was oh they like to get feedback! Really! .. she should have removed it from the bill! My friends mother had lemon posset! It was awful, hard and not as a posset should be, we did complain about that and to be fair to them they removed from the bill. We left a gratuity as it’s not the waiting staff’s issue however, being so disappointed with the quality of food and responses from staff, I unfortunately would not like to go back!"

"Visited 07/09/24..A lovely quaint bistro, well set out and clean and tidy.. We (my brother and I) were greeted with a smile by a young lady who was very welcoming and friendly..We had to wait a little bit for food but that was our fault for being in so early and food (main meals) didn't start until 12 (which we were made aware of) food came out soon after 12 and was lovely molten bowl of macaroni cheese cheesy goodness.. I was warned by the server lady it was very warm she wasn't wrong ..All of the staff we interacted with were very friendly and helpful it has lovely food and a good choice of drinks too.. Never been to the classroom bistro or Nairn before (we were only through to visit Nairn county) would love to come back and visit the classroom and next time stay a bit longer.."

"There is a new chef at the pub and the food is excellent. I recently celebrated my daughter's 18th birthday party there and Wendy, the owner, went above and beyond to make it a special night. The food was fantastic and I highly recommend this place. Located in Fishertown, the hosts are top notch with extremely professional and friendly staff. A great addition to our city. 10/10."

"I stayed on the 28th/29th June. What sets this small hotel apart from the rest is the food and the staff! My room was small, clean and had everything I needed. I had dinner and breakfast and both were of a good standard. The ladies working a very busy dinner service were amazing. I enjoyed my cullen skink and tacos. Especially loved that they have alcohol free IPA on draught. All reasonably priced. The young guy who had recently just started working there was so nice and helpful. Breakfast was lovely too. Freshly cooked. I spoke to the lady who was running the restaurant and the chef. Both were friendly and extremely efficient. I won’t hesitate to stay here again on my next visit to Nairn"
