"Great place to stop on the way, the service and food was faultless and who would think a little road side pub would do snails!!!! We all loved it and even tried to do the same route home and stop for lunch but was faster going home another way. The staff really make the place and we don’t regret stopping there for one second apart from cars refusing to let you out onto the A303"

"The beer at this restaurant is good and well-maintained. The food choices are limited, with only one vegetarian option available. The side vegetables are tasty, but the vegetarian dish itself is bland. The roast meat dishes are decent and the portions are generous. The service is lacking, with lukewarm coffees being served and mistakes made with orders. There is only one choice of coffee and limited tea options. Unfortunately, the real fire was not lit on a cold, wet day. The background music is old pop, but thankfully not too loud. This pub has declined in quality, as evidenced by the ease of booking a Sunday lunch table and numerous empty tables."

"We have stayed at this hotel a few times but not eaten in their restaurant before. We decided this time to try it out and I'm so glad we did! The restaurant is comfortable with a lovely calming atmosphere, the perfect place for a relaxing evening with excellent food. I had the Casoulet which was absolutely delicious, I would go as far as saying it's possibly the best meal I've ever had in a restaurant. I had white chocolate cheesecake with boozy berries for desert and again it was fantastic although I was so full after my main course I didn't manage to eat it all more's the pity. My husband is a very fussy vegetarian and the hotel adapted a veggie chilli with dumplings for him and he thoroughly enjoyed it, which is rare for him in restaurants usually. He had the pear crumble for desert which again he thoroughly enjoyed. Excellent value for money, fantastic, home cooked food of an exceptionally high standard, I highly recommend a visit."
