"This cafe is the perfect spot to relax and watch the city go by, the staff are very friendly. You are made to feel welcome the moment you walk in. Their sandwiches are delicious…I’m always torn between chicken, bacon cheese or chicken, Brie cranberry. They have delicious coffee as well, it would be nice to have a choice in size but the regular is definitely a decent size but if you want bigger coffee fix then you are going to have to travel elsewhere. Their pastries are Devine, my favourite is the chocolate torsade. Price wise they are a little on the high side but I feel the service that they provide as well as quality of the food served is worth the money. I particularly like to stop by on my way to university. I really appreciate the fact that they offer highland spring water. Unfortunately I have no pictures as the food was too appetising and I was rather ravenous. I will always make time to stop at this cafe, it is also a cafe I recommend to my guests at the hotel I work in."

The restaurant is in a nice location and the service was good. The food was decent, but slightly overpriced. The coffee was satisfactory.

The best brunch spot in Edinburgh! You have to try their Thai chicken noodle soup - it's a must! This is our favorite place to eat in Edinburgh!

Excellent coffee and tea, calm atmosphere, great location. Being run like clockwork, churning through lots of customers very quickly! Great food for breakfast, panninis with sausage, bacon, veggie options etc.

We decided to grab a quick coffee as we were walking in the area. The staff was incredibly friendly, the coffee was delicious, and the prices were reasonable. Our order was prepared very quickly and we even enjoyed the relaxed outdoor seating area.

Popped in for a cuppa and cake before train, empty table available but as we were only 2 people they refused our custom, preferred to wait for 4 people to come in. Not good business and seemed very unfair. There was another table being used for interview, blocking out another table. Do you want customers??

As the Travelodge had no restaurant, we were recommended to visit this cafe, next door. It is small but we found a table easily. We ordered plain porridge as we didn't want the cinamen topping plus toast each. The porridge came with the topping. I sent mine back and it was begrudgingly re[placed. the toast was thick and tasty. I did think that £21.50 was a tad expensive though.

At the end of our four day cycling break we arrived in Edinburgh absolutely drenched. While awaiting our transfer we needed drink and food and warmth the cafe welcomed us in and promptly served us, allowing us to use their faciltiies even to change! Excellent staff, extremely accommodating. I'd really recommend such an unusually friendly cafe, especially in a large city. Great staff.

I popped into Pep Fodder this morning to buy a coffee. I'd walked past it regularly but never gone in, which is my loss. Normally if I buy a coffee it is average or disappointing compared to what we make with a cheaper machine at home. Pep Foddee though make a damn fine cup of coffee and will be part of my train to London routine. I was really impressed and wish I had another to enjoy just now. I don't need more coffee but their's is that tasty. The staff were great too bright, friendly and funny but professional and extremely good at their trade. Looking forward to my next visit.

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
