"Avanches is proud of his belief as an old city, with its huge amphitheater, the remains of Roman baths and fortified walls. A winter day, with a strong wind blowing over this city on a hill. The 'Les Arcades' restaurant, on the main street (Rue Centrale), presents itself as a modest institution. Inside you will discover a family atmosphere and windows overlooking the surrounding hills. For lunch we ordered the fish that came with beautifully sawed vegetables and a paste, whose rich taste made clear that it had been carefully made from very fresh products. The white Vully wine, ordered by the glass, comes from a village a few kilometers away, along Murten Lake, and proved fruity, well balanced, with an interesting mineral note. We finished lunch with a coffee. Lunch for two costs 54 CHF. Above all, we appreciate the fact that everything was made only the wine and bread in the restaurant itself. The service was pleasant and efficient. I recommend 'Les Arcades' as a pleasant and staightforward restaurant, where the solid menu we had for lunch was a good value. In their category I define them as "excellent"."

To the surprise, new tenants since January. Daily menu local and cooked with care. Flavors on point. Well worth the price increase. I hope companies turn a blind eye because it's really good!

We saw in the menu that they have different fish from the area. We ordered two, and both were nicely cooked. We love fish and they were by far the best fish dishes we have eaten in Switzerland over the past 7 years. Wine selection is right, with really nice bottles of the zone.
