"Due to Covid 19 I booked this restaurant at least a month or so in advance of our trip to Cornwall.As usual I spent time looking for good places to eat while we were going to be away. I had booked a lovely cottage in Fowey, which meant that we really needed to travel for some good eats.Nigel chef/owner was very good at communicating, even sending a confirmation email Covid guidelines reminder on the day of reservation.The restaurant is set away from the hustle bustle of Truro city, on street parking was easy just a short walk away.Due to the new restrictions, the covers for the restaurant have obviously been reduced, this sadly means that there was little ambiance now, due to the seating was well spaced. This was done to provide staff and guests safe distancing, so to be expected.However we received a warm greeting on arrival, we were seated at our table and perused the menu wine list. The menu was reasonably extensive considering that Nigel cooks alone, and actually provides a great choice of tasty beautifully presented dishes for a one man team along with Debbie his wife, a very friendly, pleasant well informed lady front of house.We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the wine was great too, loved the extra little touches.Many thanks for a very enjoyable evening definitely worth the drive!"

"I have been a fan of Flourish for years. The food and cakes are excellent and always a good selection. However more recently the cleanliness of the tables and floor has been let go. The tables are left sticky and there is crumbs and caked on dirt all over the floor. On a recent visit the toilet bin is full to capacity with paper towels ?. Its a shame, I feel it has been let go. The whole place needs a clean from top to bottom, There is no excuse for dirty tables. I would hope that this gets sorted out soon before its popularity fades!"

"Simply the Best Cafe and Deli in Truro and the South West Bread and Butter, has a low key relaxed Atmosphere, from its Cosy Stylish interior and the wonderful hidden Seaside, Beach Hut Style Courtyard Garden. Taste of the West Gold Award 2023 Food is VERY GOOD. Staff friendly and helpful, Service is speedy From Breakfast, FAMOUS for their wonderful American Pancakes and other breakfast plates and pastries. BRUNCH LUNCH great Spanish Frittata, home made mini Quiche, Sausage Rolls, check out their MENU online LUNCH COFFEE TEA and is licensed too. Take Away available as well as Collect from Shop, Bread, Brownies etc. They also cater for Events What more can I say. Drop in, or Book ahead to reserve a table."

"The positives, lovely venue, happy staff and availability to book at short notice. On the flip side, we waited 25 minutes for food after being seated for our tea and the very polite waiter told me there would be other flavours of sandwiches on the stand after I told him I don't like salmon. When it arrived my mum ate the salmon sandwiches and I ate the cheese. No exception to my request! The scones were hands down amazing! The chef's cakes were average and we left them after tasting them, I looked at the other tables and they'd done the same. Overall, a special venue but feels too big for the amount of customers that were actually in on the day it felt empty with not much atmosphere."

"Happened across this restaurant by accident on a visit to the water gardens. Boy are we pleased we did. They offer a very reasonably priced 2/3 course lunch menu. Everything was fantastic. A very warm and sincere welcome. Delicious and original mocktails. Friendly and efficient..."
