"Based on taste, price and portion size, this is one of the best kept secrets in Koblenz. I visited this restaurant last weekend on Saturday midday, after making a reservation for two on the Wednesday before. We were greeted shortly after coming through the door and our reserved table was waiting for us, as promised. The Menu consists of both German and Italian dishes. Plus, vegetarian / diet meals, are also available. The Menu is easy to read and understand. Portions are very adequate and prices are below average. I had a schnitzel with French Fries and salad. My partner had tomato soup and Rigatoni with Spinat und Gorgonzolakäse. I tasted both dishes and I can happily recommend both meals as delicious. The salad/soup were served first and then the entrees, as it should be. The food came, hot as required and within a timely manner. Empty plates were collected, when appropriate and at that time we were nicely asked if everything was OK. At one point, my partner asked for an extra spoon and it was eloquently handed to her on a napkin. The atmosphere is pleasant and the restaurant nicely decorated, but not over done. The restaurant is roomy and well organized concerning space. It would be a great place for a special occasion. We were friendly wished a pleasant day by the owner, as we left the Gasthaus. This Gasthaus has its own parking lot, with spaces for about 10 cars, so we didn’t have to go hunting for a parking space on the street. There is also a nice terrace in the front of the Gasthaus that surely is full in the summer. The Internet page is very well organized and informative with the Menu On-line, but it is only in German. Negatives are: 1) as we arrived, it was snowing and the steps were not cleared off. Nor were they cleared off, as we left (since it had stopped snowing), so we had to be careful not to slip and fall. 2) The carpet needs cleaned. Overall this restaurant receives my best recommendation and I will be back to enjoy another meal."

Being a good meal was very often here. The boss and his employees are always friendly, especially for children. Large selection of vegetarian dishes. We've been here for years.

Nach langer Zeit 10 Jahre haben wir mal wieder den ROTEN HAHN in Arenberg besucht. Vor 10 Jahren war das eine sehr gute Pizzeria welche von Tunesischen Wirten ?! geführt wurde! Dann war Leerstand und gestern, nach dem Gauklerfest auf der Festung entschlossen wir uns zu einem spontanen Besuch. Wir waren so gegen 19.00 da und der Laden war doch sehr gut besucht. Geändert hatte sich nix, evtl. sollte man mal den Teppichboden erneuern!!!. Der Service war sehr nett und relativ zügig. Wir hatten eine Vorspeise gemischt die gut war. Ich hatte Spagetti mit Fisch und meine Frau Lasagne Essen war sehr gut, Preis/ Leistung sehr gut! Wir werden bestimmt wieder einkehren.

Essen ist zum Großteil in Ordnung (Pizza, Nudeln etc... , jedoch schmecken die Soßen zu den Schnitzeln wie Pulversoße und. Die Probleme liegen in diesem Restaurant aber nicht am Essen sondern eher beim Service: In meinen Augen bemüht sich der Besitzer mittlerweile um Freundlichkeit. Es wirkt jedoch so, dass diese nur aufgesetzt ist beziehungsweise fühlt sich die Freundlichkeit des Besitzers sehr aufgesetzt an. Die Unfreundlichkeit wird jedoch meiner Meinung nach nicht von jedem Angestellten in dem Laden ausgestrahlt es gibt dort sehr freundliche Bedienungen, die einen guten und entspannten Service bieten. Wenn man Hunger hat kann man aus meiner Sicht hier gut etwas essen. Eine gehobene Küche...
