Saracens Head - Menu

My sister, brother-in-law, and I met for lunch at this restaurant since they were docked nearby. I decided to try the roast beef and it did not disappoint. We all had a great meal and plan to come back in the future. The service from the staff was friendly and attentive.

only a token vegan menu. 2; suppe or salat. haupt; risotto (plant based eating has moved on this risotto or thai veg curry. dessert; Chocolate wingcake or fruit sorbet I had the Thai Veg-Curry so was watery, tasteless and lacking sweet. Chocolate wingcake came in small places and was in order.

Myself and another person stayed overnight in campervans on the rear field. We had an evening meal, and also breakfast the next day. Both meals were excellent, the breakfast was great with good coffee. Wide range of draught beers on tap. The staff were really friendly and efficient. Would recommend!

£9.10 for a large Zinfandel is extortionate. Food was nice and fresh but small portions. Service was ok but we felt like we had been forgotten although we put this down to Saturday evening. Service charge was taken automatically on the receipt. Parking was difficult at 6.45 on a Saturday. Wouldn’t rush back.

I live only 10 minutes drive away and quite regularly to visit. they have good vegan options (including dessert), are knowledgeable, friendly and eating is delicious! they have in the rule at least a few vegan options for any cure and not their usual born standard vegan foods. the sticky toffee pud is a firm favorite of me

Advise for future. When you are having work done to the pub please close it or advise your customers of the level of noise that will be experienced. Completely ruined our daughters graduation meal, we couldn’t hear each other and trying to enjoy a meal was impossible. Management needed also to face the complaints rather than the waiters who received the brunt of unhappy customers.

Today we were 3 adults and 2 children. The staff were super friendly and helpful but the food was a complete let down. I had the Tandoori fish, the batter was over cooked and actually burned on the bottom. Having been on a boat all day I was starving so I actually ate it. We all had chips which were very dry as was the chicken goujon. The scampi was delicious and the children had no problems with their burgers. Not for us I’m afraid and won’t be returning.

We booked a table in the bar for 6pm on a Sunday, as we were heading back to great Haywood on the canal and it was a good overnight location. When we walked in the pub it was packed which has to be a good thing surely? Oh yes it was! We were welcomed and seated, drinks menus and all table service even though we were sat in bar area because we had a dog. The food was outstanding! From start to finish the whole meal was perfectly cooked, tasty, well presented and good portion sizes. The service was engaging without being over the top. we were here for a few days in their rooms that are absolutely wonderful spaces. breakfast options for us vegans were super simple, plus the workers and kitchen were always really eager to organize everything we needed the highlight, although definitiw the house made müsli with to home made milk that was so multiish. it was literally the most beautiful musli we ever had as a vegan or earlier! the fruit plates were also spectacular, so much obstinate and a great variety. oh and the great of freshly prepared brot, could not mistake the breakfast at all, served in a really cozy wonderful room with a great view of the fields behind. in the restaurant they had a vegan menu, plus there were some o...
