"Our wonderful summer holiday in Normandy on the D Day landing beaches is over and we were back on the hard ground of daily life. Since our friends are nurturing and nurturing house, farm and animals during our absence, we always thank you afterwards with a cozy and special dinner. We wanted to visit the sunny flair of Spain, even as our friend likes to eat paella for her life, and this is not offered anywhere. We ourselves were (and that at over 200 reviews here on this portal was never in a Spanish restaurant, as my wife did not quite move. Today she had to go through, and we chose the “Tapas Barcelona” on the Dresden Gastromeile “White Gasse” near the Dresden City Hall. The “Bodega Madrid, the “Las Tapas” and the “Tapas Barcelona” offer three Spanish restaurants in the centre of Dresden. None of these restaurants have been rated by Gastroguide so I had to look at the opinions of other popular portals. Ultimately, our choice was whether the good to very good ratings on the “Tapas Barcelona”. Tapas Barcelona So in advance I had a table reserved online for 6 people. On that evening, it was difficult to leave his car adequately in the city centre. We were lucky, and after we fed the one-armed bandits of the city of Dresden with plenty of small money, we went on the way to the “Tapas Barcelona”. Already at the entrance we were kindly greeted by a young lady and checked our reservation. We had the choice between beer garden or indoor area, where our ladies, who were clearly in excess, opted for the interior. Outside area We were led and placed into a large seat niche directly on the counter. While sitting in the outdoor area under huge parasols on chairs with braided floor and backrest, it is much more comfortable in the interior. In the seat niches, of which there are several for 4 or 6 persons, one sits without exception on a softly padded and comfortable bench, while the two and four tables are then predominantly equipped with rustic wooden chairs with leather cushions. The large wooden tables offer plenty of space for many dishes. The restaurant itself is in rustic style and gives a pleasant flair with the large wooden beam ceiling and all the wood panels. In addition, slate tables with daily recommendations are attached to the columns in the restaurant. Guest room with seating The lady gave us the menus and asked if we already had a drink request. We're discussing some time to study the drinks first. Extract from the menu After a few minutes our choice of drinks was fixed. So we wished: · 1x 0.5ér Radeberger Pilsner for 4,90 € · 1x 0.5ér Radler for 4,90 € · 1x 0.4ér Pepsi Cola for 4,50 € · 1x 0.5ér homemade strawberry lemonade with lemon basil soda water for 4,90 € · 1x 0.5ér homemade heidelbeer lemonade with lime mint soda water for 4,90 € We had about 10 minutes until our drinks were at the table. During this time, the dishes were negotiated. Menu We wanted different tapas as an appetizer on the table for all. In order to avoid forgetting the many tapas, a total of over 70 standing in the card, there are corresponding notebooks to note the tapas menu number. Peppers First we could enjoy our drinks. The self-produced lemonades were mixed behind the adjacent counter, which was already noticed that with 6 glasses of homemade lemonade the taste was always a little different, as each employee takes different amount of syrup for the preparation. That's how she was sweeter and less sweet. Homemade lemonade rose wine “De Casta Rosado” by Miguel Torres Also the rose wine by Miguel Torres was not bad, this had a fine fruity aroma of strawberry and cherry. To Radeberger Pilsner, almost brewed in front of our front door, I don't have to say anything. During the evening, I moved to the “Allgäuer Büble Hell” which was more than the Radeberger. Radeberger Pilsner Allgäuer Büble hell After 20 minutes it was ready. Our tapas, which were distributed as appetizers for everyone on our table, were there. At first glance, I was shocked: these are the so-called tapas. Various bowls with the appropriate dishes in it. Yeah. So it has been attempted to share everything in some way brotherly and sisterly, which, however, did not really succeed. And that's how everyone cost. Champiñones al ajillo, Croquetas de Jamón y Queso, Chorizo a la plancha, Albóndigas de Carne en Salsa de Tomate, Queso de Cabra con Bacon, Pimientos de Padrón, Espinacas gratinadas con Queso The Champiñones al ajillo, i.e. the Champignons in Sherry Garlic – oil dishes were typical Mediterranean. The garlic oil very present, the mushrooms neat bite, the sherry gave a light touch. Not necessarily mine. Champiñones al ajillo Champignons in Sherry Garlic – Oil, Espinacas gratinadas con Queso Mediterranean leaf spinach in cream with cheese baked, Pimientos de Padrón *galizische Spezialität* small green Bratpaprika fritted The Croquetas de Jamón y Queso were unfortunately only 2 of these homemade croquets filled with Serrano ham and strong Manchego, a Spanish sheep cheese. A salsa pink, which reminded of a slightly sharp cocktail sauce. Croquetas de Jamón y Queso homemade croquettes with Serrano ham and Manchego with salsa pink, Albóndigas de Carne en Salsa de Tomate minced meatballs in tomato sauce Meins was then rather the Chorizo a la plancha, which also known as Chorizo's sharp paprika sausage from the grill. This was burst under the heat of the grill, the fat of the sausage dripping out. The chorizo as usual quite sharp, for my girls then something too sharp. I wasn't that bad. Our big daughter wished the Albóndigas de Carne en Salsa de Tomate, which were again only two minced meatballs in tomato sauce. From the appearance I was reminded of the Indian cuisine, but the minced meatballs and the thick tomato sauce were rather mild here. The Queso de Cabra con Bacon wished our friend. She got two square cubes of goat's soft cheese, which were encased with a pink fried bacon coat. A Thymian – Marmelade. She seemed happy. My wife chose Espinacas gratinadas con Queso. This was a kind of run-up with plenty of Mediterranean seasoned leaf spinach, which was baked with cream and even more hearty cheese. Queso de Cabra con Bacon Goat soft cheese in a bacon coat with thyme – jam, chorizo a la plancha paprika sausage from the grill I love roasted paprika, so it had to be the Pimientos de Padrón for me in all cases. According to the menu, this should be a Galician specialty. A whole bowl full of small green Bratpaprika, which were fried, with some garlic oil(? and coarse sea salt were seasoned. It was delicious. Unfortunately, too many of the table wanted to taste my Bratpaprika. To all tapas there was a basket with freshly baked baguette. fresh baguette as a supplement to the tapas Whether the amount of tapas I was somewhat disappointed. If you only want to eat tapas, you have to order a few such bowls as a single person to get rich. It'll go into the money too quickly. But we still had our main dishes. 20 minutes after the appetizers, a whole team of kitchen and service brought the dishes to our table. The eyes of our friend and daughter began to shine at the sight of this portion of the Paella 'BARCELONA'. Paella 'BARCELONA' rice, various fish fillets, seafood saffron At least two people need to order a paella before one is done at all. There was a large plate with plenty of spicy, bite-resistant rice and all-hand marine animals. In addition to shells, there were also shrimps and squids, tomato, paprika and fresh lemon. The two shoveled enthusiastically and left no doubt that this paella tastes good, because there was no crumb left. Paella 'BARCELONA' Our Great had chosen the Ensalada de Salmón. Two salmon fillets grilled on the skin were dressed with fresh leaf salads, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, corn and kernels. A light French dressing and a little balsamico. The salmon was pleasantly seasoned, well fried and still really nicely fresh and juicy. Even with the dressed salad and tomatoes, the freshness was tasted. Only the corn came out of the can. Ensalada de Salmón My wife today wished the Tabla de Queso, a mixed Spanish cheese plate. This was more than ample, of which I could have slept the breakfast for the next day on work. Four different cheeses, from very hearty and strong to pleasantly light and mild were represented. Green and black olives and capers. What didn't fit right was the Mixed Pickles, acid onions, olives and peppers. Fresh, dark baguette was also added to this cheese plate. Tabla de Queso fresh baguette to the cheese plate Our friend, chef on a cruise ship and just on home holiday, ordered like me the great Variada de Carnes. On the question of how we want the steaks, we wished “Medium rare”. We were amazed at the size of our plate. 4 steaks and a chorizo covered one half; on the other, the grilled potatoes with the salad were stacked. Then get to work. All steaks were slightly grilled and sprinkled with some pepper from the mill. While the pig and the turkey have missed the medium rare, the beef steak as well as the lamb steak were exactly roasted. Variada de Carnes For me this was ok, because a pig or turkey steak can be halfway medium. That's why the other two steaks brought full score. Also the grill potatoes were not bad. Crispy roasted or grilled and spread outside with a spice mixture. The chorizo, as with the tapas appetizers, again burst up here. That was very good, because the sausage could be cut very well before you punctured into such a hot thing and the blouses and shirts of the neighbors have something else. The salad also fresh and tasty again. There was nothing missing here, and even chef had nothing to put on, although he prepared quite different dishes on the ship. Rind, lamb, pork, turkey chorizo grilled on lava stone with herbal butter, with grill potatoes with salsa pink alioli, with a small mixed salad The main course was done, but there was still something missing? Of course, who knows my girls now knows the dessert. So get the card out and hit it. So it should be again: · 2x Pan de España a warm chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream fruit sauce for 6,20 € For the “Great” there was as perseverance: · 4x 2cl Ruavieja a liqueur from Galicia for 2,90 € each; 1x 2cl Anis dulce were a sweet liqueur from the Catalan town of Badalona for 3,10 €. Every one at the table tasted his rich dessert, even if the girls had already eaten better chocolate coke. Pan de España So the evening leaned towards its end, and we left ball and staggered the place. Our friend was glad to have eaten Paella again, and we were also getting married to the Spaniard. Our conclusion: we had €6273,10 in the “Tapas Barcelona” on the White Gasse in Dresden. A friendly and fleeting team is here dedicated to the well-being of guests, the food was delicious and, at least the main foods, very rich. Whether this was all so Spanish comes to us Spanish. A delicious evening is over"

The selection of taps is great. The service was great. What I think is a shame is that the tables are very small and there is little space.

The food is sensational however, the service was terrible. 20 minutes to order a drink. We almost left. Half out order arrived. It was good.

Posto alternativo per pranzare a Dresda. Un po' fuori tema con il resto dell'escursione, ma se non volete avventurarvi troppo nel cercare un posto dove mangiare, questo è un buon compromesso.

If you go there for the first time, you should read the menu completely. But it's worth it because the individual tapas and especially the fresh bread are incredibly tasty. However, you should book a table in advance otherwise you won't get a seat. It's worth checking out.

"I stayed at the hotel in which this restaurant is situated, it is on the 5th floor, and I passed it a couple of times but it was always empty. One reason, I think, is that the menu is rather obscure, with slashes between the dish description as inscallop/saffron/guava/back puddingA little off- putting, I felt. However, as a lone diner, I was getting pretty fed up of waiting for bad food each evening, although in a beautiful setting, Dresden's main square and its surrounds. So on my last night I treated myself and got a table on the roof terrace. The waitress was very helpful and friendly, and produced a good selection of bread. It's clear there are 5 courses, an appetiser, a hot starter, a soup course, a main and dessert. I didn't want the soup. This wasn't a problem. To start, I had quail's egg/chick/gorgonzola/rocket, but it was so much more than that! It had a delicious fried bread cube, a gorgonzola sorbet, and crumbled herbs to garnish. It was, superb. But the description is selling itself short! The hot starter was also good, scallops in a saffron sauce, with a black pudding jelly. The "guava" ends up on the dish as a smear, nothing more. My main was beef/capers/sour cherries/ smoked aubergine, but again, more- a delicious sauce, and perfect mash- a small amount, but perfect....There are 3 dessert options, I enjoyed a nougat with gold leaf. In all, the food was beautifully presented, and the best food in Dresden so far, on a par, that is, with Kallemeiers where you have to book a table. This place deserves the same popularity but is selling itself short with the odd menu descriptions. It scares people off, like myself. I urge you to go and try for yourself. There's a great evening to be had, in a stunning setting."
