"I gave this 3 stars based on the lack of atmosphere and character it used to have. The food was excellent as always and we have been coming here for probably 20+ years. Big paper signs at back door by car park to use front door unless disabled, hence the majority of folk coming in front door and despite fire on it was baltic. Table service only so sorta missed the locals standing by the bar chatting .. felt like I was still in covid era, won't rush back."

Went today with a friend will never go again.i had gammon egg chips and pineapple,the egg was so bad it looked like it had been in an accident so I had it changed,the gammon was tough and there was only Amber ale or guineas so I had to have cider as I don't like bottled beer.my friends food was OK but to be honest it wasn't worth the £37.00

We had a fantastic dining experience at the Blackwell Ox. The food was exceptionally tasty, and the portion sizes were generous a lot of which we took home. The staff were friendly and provided quick service. The atmosphere was pleasant, not noisy at all, and I found the prices to be excellent value for money. Highly recommended! "we live quite locally, but had not visited many years until day I wish we had! Sunday dinner was the best we had eaten for a long time, there was a lot of sweet and meat and everything was perfectly cooked. a member of our group had the lasagne and also said that it was one of the best he had. also the chocolate cake for dessert was heavenly. the service is great and friendly and the pub was cozy and festive with traditional decorations. we will make this site definitiw a regular food-out option from now on."

"We went to this pub yesterday for Sunday lunch and we were very impressed. It’s a really nice cosy pub and the staff were all so polite and helpful. We both ordered a starter of chicken liver pate followed by beef with all the usual veg and Yorkshire puddings. In all honesty, next time we will order one portion of pate to share because it came with far more toasty bread than you usually get and we ended up asking to take quite a lot of the pate home with us. The pate was to die for, as was the excellent chutney. It was served with rocket and other leaves which were crisp, fresh and delicious. The main course wasn’t far behind and it was piping hot. The beef was so tender and tasty and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. The gravy which was plentiful tasted incredible. It’s our first time and certainly won’t be the last that’s for sure."

"Both positive and negative sides to our stay here, but overal dissapointing. We were two couples, where one pair had a nice enough room, while the other had a room with lots of mold in the bathroom. Except for the mold problem, the rooms were clean. We ate dinner and breakfast at the hotel. The food was good and the servers were attentive and helpful. There was, however, the very strong smell of mold for the two of us who sat next to the wall This detracted from the experience. We also arranged for packaged lunches as we were walking coast-to-coast. The lunch offered was the worst that we had on the entire trip. We tasted it, then decided to eat later. The man who drove us to and from the hotel was friendly and pleasant. The woman who worked the front desk was quite the opposite--surly almost to the point of being rude. This made a large negative impact on our experience as a whole."

"A lovely pub, comfy and spacious seating arrangements, with delicious food and excellent service. Menu has plenty of vegetarian selection and all the pub classics! One must have the home made Chicken and Mushroom pie, with mash and garden peas. For me, it was the best ever, I've eaten, just the perfect amount of tender chicken mushroom, served in a creamy sauce. Good size portion. Sticky Toffee Pudding with Custard was also very good though, I struggled to finish it and had to have it packed. Compliments to the Chef and thank you Adam for being a perfect host!"

"I recently dined at The Jet Miners for the second time and tried the hühnerburger, which was hands down the best I've ever had! The staff was friendly, cheerful, and accommodating, even going above and beyond to fulfill special requests for my two picky children who wanted beans not listed on the menu. I highly recommend visiting on a Sunday for the carvery experience, as it was also wonderfully enjoyable."
