"We always enjoy going to vintage inns and have visited many but this one is very disappointing not clean or welcoming no service whatsoever even though there was only one other customer dinning and two having drinks. We paid and used our share holder discount and then spoke to the waitress to no avail. Perhaps you should send them all to the Talbot in Biddulph everyone there is wonderful."

Just want to thank Miguel and Jack for their efforts to make my Mum's birthday family meal such a success. The food was great, served just as we ordered it (via the app., thanks Tib), and they even turned the speaker down in our area so we could talk. Top pub and top blokes. Thank you.

A fabulous pub restaurant to chill out at. Lovely location. Food was gorgeous,service By Miguel was exceptional. Attentive without being in your face. We decided to dine here rather than at our hotel and so glad we did a really nice evening with fab food service and ambiance. Would Definitely recommend you come and give it a try.... "Looking for a decent ale having been unsuccessful earlier in the evening, my neighbour suggested here. Known locally as a good pub for drinkers. For a wet evening, midweek, the place was quite full and we got a couple of seats around the corner, away...from the main bar. The decor isn't great but you come here to drink I guess. The extensive beer mat collection above the bar is a nice touch. Little glasses of beer next to the pumps and went for the darkest that wasn't a Porter, Barnsley something. As I'd had a girlfriend from Barnsley once, I gave it a try! It was OK, better than the Golden Hen' I'd had earlier. We struggle to find somewhere in Macc that serves good cask ale but this is one of the best. My friend John who used to run Porters was helping behind the bar, if only he was still there, that was a great pub."

"Came on Saturday night with a friend, the food was good (it has been better before) the service was a bit odd, it wasn't mega busy but all the waitresses seem extremely rushed off their feet and it took longer than necessary to get drinks. We ordered sparkling water and it came in the glass rather than bottle, and we were then charge £2.50 for it. We were sat near the door to the kitchen downstairs with the smell of smoke wafting up. The waitress walked into my chair at least 4 times as she was rushing past and the bathroom was dirty. For a small place the acoustics are very bad and its extremely loud in the back room. Will come back and try again as maybe we just went on an off day!"

"I was really excited to eat at Salt Bar. I’m a big fan of Scandi Food. Unfortunately I left disappointed. I don’t have any real complaints about the food but can’t say I was wowed, I'm didn’t meet my expectations. But is suppose that’s on me really. Service was slow, this is due to staff training I believe. We had a lad who took our orders multiple times, and seemed cause some confusion in the kitchen. That said, the more experienced caught it before it became a real problem and our order came out correct. I never have an issue with training, everyone has to start somewhere. My BIGGEST issue however was RIGHT AFTER ordering dessert a waitress informed us we had to be gone in 10 minutes. Which made the whole table feel immediately uncomfortable. Most of us couldn’t even remember dessert because we suddenly felt so unwelcome That we scoffed it down as quick as possible. The next table also came in early which made things worse. Ironically it took them almost 5 minutes to give us the bill. I feel that request would have been reasonable had WE been particularly slow on ordering, or eating. But the truth is it was the service that slowed everything down. It felt like we where being penalised suddenly for a mistake that wasn’t our own. I feel it is completely unacceptable to shift the consequences of your own mismanagement on to your customers. Honestly it ruined what was otherwise an enjoyable dinner amongst friends."

"Had a brilliant take away when collecting our meal on Friday night. Really good food and an interesting, varied menu with a nice blend of spices without blowing your head off. I had the squid and house special (king prawns, lamb chicken) which came with big pieces of meat and tasted great. My wife had vegetable samosas (generously sized) and butter chicken, which came with a gorgeous thick sauce. The garlic rice too was really tasty. The restaurant was busy and I would recommend collecting your takeaway rather than opting for delivery if you order one. Our food was fresh and Gurkha Dining offers something different in Macc. Every dish was cooked with care and had distinctive flavours, making this the most enjoyable takeaway we’ve had for a long time."

"What a beautiful experience! My family and I visited this restaurant for lunch, including my elderly grandfather who needed some extra assistance getting in and out of the place. The staff went above and beyond to help us without any annoyance. The food was incredible, but it was the exceptional service that truly stood out. The staff were incredibly polite and friendly, making us feel truly special. To top it off, they even surprised us with a complimentary dessert and sang happy birthday to my grandma, who was celebrating her special day. It was a sweet and much appreciated gesture. Thank you for a wonderful meal!"
