"Had a very enjoyable Sunday lunch at the Cow Calf. We arrived early and they were able to fit us in. Service was good though we had a little wait for our food. Large Yorkshire puds and extra gravy. The cauliflower cheese wasn't what I expected but it was tasty. Always good after a walk on the moors"

A quiet post Christmas Monday evening in the restaurant but the standard of food was very good and the service friendly. We had a nice evening

Weather was good so views stunning. Cow calf is a favourite watering hole with friends over from Canada, a great place to go knowing we would have good food good service with good views to cap it all, a Canadian server too

The Cow and Calf were very accommodating despite a mess up with booking through open table, apparently we weren't the only ones who had problems but luckily we turned up early and we managed to get seated for a lovely Sunday roast platter

beautiful environment, eat excellent and coworkers very friendly and polite. parked car and went an hour on moor and a good hearty meal and drink after our return. so the access of dogs and even our dogs were relaxed after their walk through fire.

Terrible food. Overcooked burgers, warm limp salad ontop of fried fish, peas swimming in water, crème brulee tasted fridgey. Despite roaring log fires the dining room was cold, smokeburning smells from the kitchen filled the pub, and there was a strong smell of stale cooking oil
