I visited this restaurant with some friends before going for a walk across the moor. The views were stunning, the staff was lovely, and the pint was great.

I had high expectations for this restaurant based on word-of-mouth reviews, but I was ultimately disappointed. The food was average and the service was terrible. It had a generic chain pub vibe.

"From our first welcome by Howell to paying our bill, we had first class, friendly service. Good choice of menus, and explanations readily given for anything we weren’t sure of. I had a beetroot and goat’s cheese salad for a starter, and my husband had white anchovy bruschetta. For mains we both had mafalde with a pesto of asparagus and peas with Parmesan, and a generous helping of goats cheese for me. To finish we had an affogato, with amaretti for crunch. To drink we had still water. Just perfect for a relaxing lunch."

"Ate at Sachis for the first time last night, we were really impressed. Food was so fresh and well spiced, just delicious. None of the generic fatty and salty dishes that you sometimes get in curry restaurants. Service friendly and prompt. There also was clear labels on the menu for food allergies which makes life easier. Pleaed there's such a good Indian restaurant in Ilkley. Will return as soon as we can!! Meal type: Dinner"

"The Box Tree has undergone a transformation under the leadership of chef Brado and his team, resulting in a refreshing new menu and higher standards. Since Brado took over, there has been a noticeable improvement in quality, with bold new dishes showcasing the confidence of the head chef and his kitchen staff. The service at the front of the house is excellent, with a knowledgeable sommelier who is happy to provide recommendations. The waiting staff are friendly and professional. While there is no on-site parking, the restaurant is conveniently located near the main town car park just a minute's walk away. With a menu that is constantly evolving, there is always a reason to return to the Box Tree."

"small and comfortable caffe with friendly and competent staff. on the menu there are a few vegan options: avocado on toast (with or without feta) and a falafel dish with salat. I had the avo on toast, which was lemony and a bit spicy and altogether delicious. the staff offered to include additional cheeks because I asked not to have the feta. "what a nice place. the first time I was. love the deko and the atmosphere was alive. the personal was very smart and well spoken. when eating came my father starter) it looked fantastic. not sure what it was, but he left me some. a very smooth but tasty pate on a roasted brot that was very light. I ordered the steak! rare to medium with thin chips saw how thick potato wars they get in a package) and spinat with balsamic dressing it think. Oh, my God, cooked to perfect the steak. not to see fat. it is simply melted in the mouth. what a great mix. I would recommend this charming bistro to everyone. many thanks for a nice dinner with my father. and will be for more. I'm sorry he's going into the bar and talking to the chef. whitaker and my father michael whitaker."
