"We were visiting the area for a few days and had been recommended Hoole Village for good places to eat. Captivated by the amount of 5 star reviews we decided to The Faulkner and were certainly not disappointed. The friendly staff made us feel very welcome, and the well decorated room was spotlessly clean. Meals are cooked to order from a range of locally sourced ingredients so don't arrive quickly but good food is always worth the wait. My wife opted for the Steak, Mushroom and Ale Pie whilst I chose the 10 oz Cheshire Gammon Steak. Both were well presented and delicious. My gammon was served with a fried duck egg and lovely pineapple salsa giving it an interesting twist from the norm. A decent selection of ales included some local brews. We hope to visit the area again and will more than likely return to The Faulkner for another meal"

One of the best bar meals I have had..... anywhere!!. Delicious 'proper ' beef pie with smooth, creamy mashed potato and vegetables. Decent real ales and a good atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit.

Husband and I went tonight for the steak night. Had a few disappointing ones over the last year. I must say it was the best steak we've had that I haven't had to cook for years. Huge thankyou to the chef. Staff were friendly. Thank you xx

Fantastic food and friendly, welcoming service and lovely atmosphere in the Faulker Arms. We went on a special Tapas Tuesday night, 4 small plates of your choice and wine for £25. Fab value for money, delicious food and only 5 mins away from our B&B.

I was here to celebrate the high season in the mai and it was so good that we drove back to dinner last night. tom w served us and was charming. we had the shaders and the calamari was fab and it was very busy, so had a great atmosphere. very recommended x Visualizza piatti

what can I say remained in the fab stone villa, which recommended to eat this place. was not really excited at pub grub bit hit and miss. what can I say eating was wonderful restaurant quality, staff very helpful and polite. the outside is the interior of quality. well recommended a hidden gem

we had to book in advance because we couldn't get a table on the eve. only in the opposite for 3 days, so we were not disappointed on Google Card reviews. the service was attentive, but not intrusive. Eating was delicious, beautifully presented and good value for money. I had the salmon with summer veg risotto, hubby had the seabass, both were excellent with generous portions. give them safe layout of tabs and table service.

"On arrival the staff where lovely , we ordered our meal . The lasagne sounded good so both ordered the same. What a disappointment, it was stodgy and too much tomato , hardly any cheese. I have never left a lasagne but could only manage...half of it , as did my friend. and that was a struggle. It reminded me of a cheap lasagne from a bargain supermarket or school meals , the worst I have ever had.! Even the garlic bread was very dry, so we thought the pudding would be better , creme anglaise was curdles and hard ... I left half of it .. my friend left all of hers as it was just tasteless, and slightly frozen .. sad because we used to love this restaurant , wont be going back for a long time ."

"went to atina after other reviews . my mother took to late lunch and was more than happy. the waiter was a credit for the business and eating enthusiastic my mother and me as a vegan who can often find the menu the same. we shared a tapas of combinations all that were delicious at the side a glass of house wine. beautiful atmosphere, attentive service and tasty eating"

"The only disappointment was where we were seated: people were standing behind us and kept knocking into our chairs because they were very drunk. Perhaps they should seat people who are eating separately from those who are drinking. I had to speak to them to ask them to stop knocking into our chairs. The waitress was amazing, although I didn't catch her name. She kept asking if we wanted our drinks refilled so we didn't have to go to the bar. The food was absolutely outstanding."

"First visit to Urbano today and we weren't disappointed. Although it was very busy, we were greated by a very friendly member of staff and shown to a table. We only wanted drinks and were offered cocktail suggestions, one of which we chose it was so good, we ordered a second one each. Service was quick, staff were all smiling and friendly. We will definitely return for food next time we are in Chester."
