"I visited this restaurant for a Sunday lunch with my family. We were warmly welcomed at the entrance by a charming old pub dog. Inside, the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. The food, service, and drinks were all quite satisfying and reasonably priced. I’d say it cost about £20–30 per person. Overall, I would rate the food a 5, the service a 4, and the atmosphere a 4."

"Visited today intending to have lunch. It wasn’t initially very busy. Twice we asked a waitress if we could order food. The first time we were told she would get our drinks then return to take our food order. When the drinks arrived we again asked if we could place our order. She said she would go get a note pad pen. She didn’t return. Soon after that a large group of walkers arrived. Most went into the pub to get drinks before sitting down outside. Very soon a waitress appeared proceeded to take their food orders. Seeing this we decided not to order food as we would have a very long time to wait while their food was prepared! We often have lunch here after a dog walk have always found it very friendly were intending to return next week for lunch with a friend but are now going to try to find an alternative venue. Shame!"

"My sort of pub! I go to a lot of pubs, and this is the sort I like the best. Old fashioned, unpretentious pubs like this are sadly becoming a rarity in England. Long may this one remain unchanged. It also happens to be in one of the most beautiful areas of Southern England. Plenty of superb walks in the wooded hills reaching down to the River Thames. Worth making a day of it, with a pub lunch! This is the sort of pub we should all be supporting."

"I ate dinner at the White Hart this evening. Whilst I can 't fault the decor or atmosphere it 's a perfectly nice pub I thought the food was truly dire. I had the calamari to start, which was similar to something you 'd be served from a packet in a Wetherspoons. It was dry and I 'd be extremely surprised if this wasn 't from a frozen packet. It was the main course though that really staggered me. This is supposedly a South African pub, and they boast legendary steaks on the menu. This was singularly the worst steak that I 've had out in the UK. I paid nearly £40(!! for a Ribeye Surf and Turf and ended up with 3 tiny frozen prawns on a skewer, rested on top of a steak that was roughly the thickness of a rasher of bacon. This steak arrived slathered in BBQ sauce, rendering the additional £3 portion of (packet Bearnaise pointless. If you 're going to brand your steaks Legendary on the menu (and charge DOUBLE the price of Hawksmoor in Knightsbridge, Central London (per ounce you really need to back it up with something far better than this. I 'm not in the habit of leaving reviews on pubs or restaurants, but I felt compelled to today. If I could give The White Hart one less star, I 'm afraid I would."

"Lovely discovery down a single track road off the Henley road. Very accommodating, fitted us in at lunchtime, a table in the garden with a great view. Inside are plenty of nooks and side rooms for spacesd out dining. Menu refreshingly varied. Very friendly and prompt service at a busy time."
