"I am a 72 year old lady who met a friend for lunch and was asked to remove my car as it was blocking the managers driveway. I had to park out in the street as the restaurant car park was closed due to works. I explained to the waitress that I had left the house driveway clear but if it was a real problem I would move it. She said its okay for the now. Towards the end of the lunch this woman (who turned out to be the Manage'rs wife came over and very aggressively shouted and pointed her finger at me and said if I did not remove my car within 10 minutes she would not be responsible if it was hit by her Range Rover. I tried to explain that I had already spoke to the waitress and said that if it was a real problem I would move it. However I did not get finished my explanation as she stormed out through the back of the pub! I did then go and move my car but I was left very shaken and asked to speak to the Manager and was told that he was not available but I had seen him two minutes before dealing with a small tractor with a fork lift on front who was delivering turf and had managed to get into the driveway before I had a chance o move my car!! I thought it was terrible that the Manager would not come and speak to me and I will never be back there again and neither will my friends having, been a number of times in the past. I took a picture of the space I had left and there is plenty of room to get into the driveway!!"

"we visited to lunch on a bright early morning Saturday afternoon our friend had good work in him was really busy. the service was very friendly, young and efficient staff. we ordered a few sharers to start halloumi...chips with a tomato dip and the chipolatas, then everyone had a main course. we had x chicken mites and x chicken kjew (some of the jelly from this court goes to a Ukrainian charity that is an excellent idea). the whole food was nice, although the brokkoli was a bit cold, as if it were a past. we were too full of dessert, but we sat and chatting one because and nobody bothered us to pay the bill or go olney itself is a beautiful little place with some interesting, independent shops and worth a walk."

"I have been to the Horseshoe many times over the past 15 or so years, and it is always cosy and the staff hospitable. I last went in November to celebrate my husband's birthday with his family, and it was amazing. The pub had changed hands since I last visited, and it was just as cosy and wonderful. It was one of the first cold days in November when we visited, so the fire was a welcome sight. The food was delicious, and the staff were welcoming, kind, and attentive to us throughout our time there. Thank you, and we will definitely be visiting again soon! P.S. Try the French onion soup (if on the menu). It was delicious.. Dietary restrictions: I have a severe nut allergy, and the staff member who took our order checked and double-checked the food I had ordered to make sure that there were no nut traces, etc. I was very grateful, and I was able to enjoy my meal without feeling anxious about having an allergic reaction because of said staff members' thoroughness. Thank you."

"I'm conflicted with this place... The food is actually quite good, bar some slightly overcooked chicken. Very good prices, especially for the 3 course menu. Service on the other hand is sub-par. One of the guys was very friendly and happy, the other was miserable. Quite rude taking our orders and then would make us pass the plates/drinks down the table rather than quite easily walk around and place them. It's the little things about a restaurant that make you want to come back and while the food was good, the service has put me off enough to not return. "My husband and I went to The Swan Inn and bistro for our anniversary lunch at the beginning of December, and the food was delicious. We had 3 courses, some soft drinks and coffees and everything was sublime. The main reason for the review though is the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. I find it to be a rare thing these days when you’re met with eye contact and a smile but the ladies working on 7th December were so nice and welcoming. I’ll 100% be going back. A lovely pub in a very pretty market town."
