Drinks ok, no service after waiting an hour for food order to be taken. Thanks for apology, have adjusted review score. It was frustrating on the night, we pre-booked as we were camping locally and had no other options for dinner.

Kelly and Deano are amazing hosts and provide such a good atmosphere, very welcoming and know how to have a good time. The food was so so good, ample portions and great quality! We are visitors to the area and have now visited twice (maybe more to come! . Lovely food and have to give credit to the waitresses and staff. Very friendly environment and the pricing favourable. Don't usually bother with leaving reviews but felt the need to compliment such a nice pub. Parking is pretty tight and so is the only criticism. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

"When we arrived the main bar/restaurant was full of smoke, we were seated in the conservatory away from most of the smoke, we were asked three times in quick succession if we were ready to order and I ordered one starter and was given two and i refused one of them but they gave it free of charge. When the main course arrived, I had pork and one of the elements to the dish was excessively salty. When we finished the main course I asked to speak to the manager and mentioned the points I have raised and also that it was a very rushed experience that we did not enjoy. We had two coffees that I was not charged for on the final bill but I was very surprised to see a service charge on the bill which I unfortunately paid almost out of embarrassment. I will not be returning."

"We had a bad experience with the food. Beef was terrible and the kitchen had not cooked properly for long enough. They took my men from the bill and replaced my with another dish, but it ruined the birthday meal for us. I mean, while everyone was done, for example. The manager came by the end and said the kitchen wouldn't have cooked it long enough, but why didn't nobody try it? Are you sure you see if it's delicate or not if it's a slowly cooked short rib? I could say by putting in the fork as my husband could. It must be obvious when it is flattened. Lamb was apparently average for £21.50, fish and chips good. But my replacement fish was overcooked! Dark brown and hard dough! I had a bad day. The staff is lovely, but you go there to eat. We sat in the conservatory when it was a beautiful day and they opened the window for us, but then the people started moving BBQs and Dustbins and at one point it was so loud and distracting we couldn't hear right! I wanted to sit in the conservatory, but I wouldn't have if I had known it sorted out the garden. We weren't for a year when we went a lot earlier, then it was a bit hard so we stopped. We wanted to try again. Unfortunately, it was a bit of a disaster."

"I had lunch with a friend. Staff friendly and pleasant surroundings. I ordered the pie which was ok. The pastry was very hard though. I struggled to get my knife and fork through it. Otherwise mash and gravy were nice and it was filling. I asked if they did home made chips and was told a definite no. She went on to say the chef would throw a fit if asked to make his own chips which was a strange thing to say. My friend had a sloppy linguine in a tomato sauce with fried chicken on top which really seemed like two meals on the same plate. She didn't like it."

"I had a wonderful experience at this charming traditional pub. The menu was nice and it was great to see the chef in proper chef attire, which is uncommon nowadays. "We were very pleasantly surprised by the welcome of this place run by a family, a very nice atmosphere with regulars and us tourists. We were able to eat in the evening at his restaurant, the food was fabulous, the service was very good and very pleasant, once again we paid a sum for five courses and dessert with a few extras for a very reasonable total. We only spent one night for the return to France from Scotland, it was fine, for my part I was a little disappointed with the shower in my room and the cushions for a passing night it was, however keep in mind that it is in a very old house/inn. In any case, I recommend this place!! Rooms: Very good for spending a night or more Nearby activities: We saw a zoo not far away! Safety: Very small city so optimal security Walkability: Rather come by car if you are traveling Food drinks: Amazing, with low prices for where it is located Noteworthy details: Very medieval atmosphere, we loved it"
