We sat in a room without light, no music, no microphones, I don't understand how they thought it was okay to sit for 4 and half an hour with nothing. the braut made it very clear that it was an early recipe, so we expected that everything as the buffet is presented, but the dj was left at 19:00. Had lunch here the other day, good service and food was fine. My husband said his burger was burnt I think it was charcoal smoked (i like it like that) I think it was down to preference. thought a pound for 3 onion rings were...a bit steep. What you expect from a chain.

Popped here for dinner and a couple of beers as it was close to our hotel. My meal was dreadful. I chose pie and chips, portion size was quite small, I think the pie had been heated in the microwave as the pastry was not...crisp, it was all soft and stodgy and the gravy wouldn’t even poor from the jug; it was jelly like. Avoid.

Gosh there are so many bad reviews of many established places like this. Went here last night for a meal opted for one of the toasted sandwiches it was dreadful. It was supposed to be toasted not stale bread Swimming in mayo and where was the Bacon on my chicken and bacon sandwich same place as toaster or...grill…..none existent. All in all I paid just over a fiver for a mayo sandwich with about 3 lumps of chicken on it. To make matters worse I had to wait 30mins for a sandwich. It was not just my food that was rubbish a friends veggie lasagne looked like and tasted like it wasn’t even heated up, the pie that another friend ordered was soggy and cold. Called in for a few drinks and a bar meal, family of 6,of which 2 are regular uses of the pub. In 35 years of using pubs in and around Chesterfield, this was the worst experience ever from start to finish. Bar staff slow and...rude,food arrived over a hour after ordering, even though the pub was quiet. The food finally arrived and this is when the experience went from bad to absolutely terrible, children portion sizes,cold,uncooked food,just a disaster.
