"What a delightful little place. Plenty of parking , beautifully decorated and service friendly. Food is delicious pig cheeks for starters, Wagyu beefburger with marmite butter and truffle mayo and egg custard tart for pudding each one utterly delicious. Had another great meal at The Plough. I was impressed at what a great selection there was for those on a gluten free diet. Very pleasant staff, friendly, efficient and let’s face itthe food was delicious! Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5

It's okay, very pricey. For example; £18 for just a burger. Sides such as chips are extra. Staff are lovely and the place itself, beautiful garden. We had the best Sunday meal we've ever experienced! Considering the fantastic value, it's definitely a place you need to check out. The staff, particularly the bartender Fernando, are wonderful and extremely welcoming. Don't forget to ask him for his old fashioned recipe! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Gorgeous venue, wonderful service. Food was excellent. Cocktails perfect. (I even asked for one that was not on the menu with no problems! "Our friends recommended this restaurant to us, and we are so glad we made the trip for lunch today! The food was absolutely fantastic, and the dishes were thoughtfully crafted with a lot of attention to detail in the menu. We opted for the à la carte menu, and every dish was perfectly executed and delicious. I highly recommend the black cheek starter and the brains dish. My partner had the mackerel with root vegetables and a flavorful cream sauce, followed by the chicken. We also ordered a side of cauliflower, which was the best I've ever tasted—creamy and cooked to perfection. We tried several other dishes, all of which were fabulous as well. The wine list was great, and the prices were reasonable. We will definitely be coming back! Thank you for such a wonderful local find!"

"I chose The Highwayman restaurant with high hopes, only to be let down by the main dish. The steak was overcooked, the peppercorn sauce lacked any peppercorns and flavor. I had to request my chips, sauce, and a steak knife. When I voiced my concerns to the waiter, he was dismissive and avoided us for the rest of the evening. It seems like The Highwayman may be able to deliver good food when it's not too busy. The more crowded it gets, the lower the quality of the food and service."

"Service was terrible. We had to keep going to the bar to ask for drinks, condiments, cutlery etc Large fish and chips was the same size as a co diners small except a few more chips.when this was mentioned to the waiter we were offered some extra chips. Both the fish chips were not freshly cooked and had obviously been cooked and kept warm for some time. Not crispy. Ketchup mayonnaise served in the same pot!! We went to the bar to pay and a customers dog was lying in front of the restaurant exit in full view of all the bar staff. He didn’t move the dog out of the way so we had to step over the dog to get out. No one asked him to move the dog from being a trip hazard. When paying the bill we asked that the discretionary 12% service charge be removed as we didn’t get good service. We were told they were not able to remove it so gave us a complementary drink instead but no apology. Walking to the car on checking the bill we noticed we had been charged for a bottle of Prosecco instead of a glass. Went back again no apology from the young man got the bottle refunded but still out of pocket on the service charge against the £32.95 bottle There was a lady behind the bar that had just started service who was the only person to offer an apology. Such a shame as we went regularly during the summer and food was always good. Also prices on website are not the same as on the restaurant menu. We Won’t rush back"

"The restaurant has recently changed ownership and the improvements are remarkable. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is outstanding. It's great value for money and the dishes are delicious. They offer a wide selection for both adults and kids, with a fantastic three-course Sunday Roast option featuring beef, lamb, pork, chicken, and vegetarian choices. The restaurant also has a playground where kids can play freely. It's definitely worth a visit if you have young children and want them to have a great time."
