Rude and loud gathering at the bar spoilt the evening. We have heard of others, some with young children, have had the same experience. Staff appears to tolerate it.

This charming pub serves delicious pizzas and offers a friendly welcome. The Christmas decorations are beautiful and they are dog friendly. I would definitely recommend it.

When in Finchingfield walk up the hill to the Finchingfield Lion. They make a supurb pizza . We were made so welcome by the landlord young lady behind the bar who served us with a smile. She informed us of upcoming events we will most definitely return. It's a must to visit this lovely country pub.

I've been here a few times and every visit has been perfect! Amazing atmosphere in here and just wonderful pizza's!! They really have got it right! We were looking for somewhere for lunch on New Year's Day and tried The Lion at Finchingfield which was open and serving pizzas. A warm welcome from the landlady and a choice of beers. We read some good reviews on Google and decided to try this place for lunch. The pizzas here were phenomenal! They have a variety of toppings and the crust is done exactly right (if you like thin crusts). We were 4 adults and a toddler. We ate 4 pizzas among us. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall it was a great lunch!

After recently relocating to the village, we were urged by several locals to check out this restaurant for its incredible pizzas and inviting atmosphere. We were not disappointed- the pizzas were truly stellar. The bar staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, and the cozy ambiance, complete with a charming log burner, made for a fantastic dining experience. We highly recommend paying a visit to The Lion.

The staff were all delightful, welcoming, and friendly. The bar had a warm and inviting atmosphere filled with locals, children, and even dogs. The menu mainly consisted of pizzas, with my personal favorite being the Adult pizza, which can also be made vegan-friendly with dairy-free cheese. They also offer normal cheese for those who prefer it. We found the inn to be a perfect base for exploring the surrounding area, with the added convenience of a nearby car park.
