"This place is like a wasted opportunity to be something great. Fairly recently it had a great outdoor play area built for kids which is already showing signs of neglect with two of the only swings and one of the slides being removed/broken. The food is okay but lacking creativity at best and so is probably overpriced outside of the weekday saver deal of 2 meals for £15 at the moment. Its virtually all self service here for cutlery, napkins, sauces and also ordering food at the bar. This place is trying to be welcoming and family friendly but still feels like a classic pub catering more for their local regulars who drink quietly in it's dark corners and help keep the lights on. In such a prime location of Caerleon by the river, the Ship would benefit from taking itself more seriously ."

Great food, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Nice and Clean place. Food was alittle pricey but drinks were cheap so there was a balance there. Food drinks: Lovely food, decent sized meals, cheap drink Rooms: 4 Service: 5 Location: 5

Fantastic pub with even better food. I bought a group of 20 in recently for an evening meal and everyone absolutely loved it! Staff were absolutely on it and really helpful, especially considering how many of us there were Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5

A very nice stopping point, for 5 mates to meet up and enjoy a good meal. Would definitely frequent the Swan Inn again. Food drinks: The food was very good, and the drinks were varied and reasonably priced. Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Great value

Twice we’ve visited now during the kitchen opening hours as shown on google and been refused service because either the kitchen was closed or we didn’t have a booking despite it being empty? Assume the chef rules the roost here and fancied a break. Staff seemed panicked and unorganised. Advice would be to call and make a booking as it’s clearly not a walk in venue. Just a shame as the food is good and we’ve travelled twice and been let down. Perhaps list food as booking only?

Visited for a family meal. Clean and inviting restaurant and we were warmly welcomed which doesn't happen everywhere. Well looked after from beginning to end, the girls were fantastic, polite and accommodating. Food was exceptional (taste and presentation). It was nice that we were asked if we had everything we needed and whether we were enjoying our meals. Highly recommend to all. Big shout out to Chef! Best meal out we've had in a long time! Keep up the hard work. Thank you for a lovely evening.
