Nice place to stop and have a drink. The pub is just as interesting inside as it is outside. Wonderful watching boats go through the lock, or doing inside and seeing the interesting decor. They welcome well behaved dogs too. Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

We didn't eat here but of what food I saw it looked good. The service was excellent and plenty of locals made the atmosphere welcoming. Dogs are allowed with plenty of outside seating. As you can see from photos some unusual guests inside. Parking: I don't have a car but saw cars parked around the area. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a slope leading to the pub so easy for wheelchair access and prams etc. Price per person: £1–10

We found a charming pub next to the canal where we had docked for the night. After a long day of travel, we were looking forward to a meal, but The Steamboat had already stopped serving food as it was past 8pm. The landlord was very accommodating and allowed us to order takeout and eat it on the premises, even providing us with plates. This kind of exceptional service is rare and we were truly grateful. Thank you to everyone at The Steamboat for going the extra mile, we will definitely be returning!

my own and my hubby often come here and we think it's wonderful. the staff, the cook, the renter and the local are beautiful and they are always welcome. eating is also beautiful and cheap. we had to wait a long time, once due to a mistake (it happens that they are only a human) and the renter paid for our drinks for our stay, the cook came apologising and asked us if we still want our meal or want an alternative etc. and the merciful came to us and gave us a good certificate for our next meal. they didn't have to do that! we only asked about our meal when others were and went and we sat there. we were happy to wait, but, they went out of their way to try our visit, the best thing it could b...
