"I booked the festive menu for three and said I would have something off the menu all four of us had purchased a voucher for £15 which enabled us to have £25 towards meal and drinks. The three friends each paid a deposit of £5. The meal was dreadful!!! The service was slow and we were the only ones in there! The beef had no Yorkshire pudding, the Turkey ROLL was like Bernard matthew’s, my chicken was over cooked and dry it was supposed to have a sauce but I had to ask for gravy it was so dry! And the dessert (treacle tart) was not only cold but rock hard!!! We asked to speak to someone to say how disappointed we were and basically were brushed off then she told us one voucher per bill but we were told per person! So she then had to split the bill we all ended up giving her our vouchers because we wouldn’t go again. Appalling! The two stars were for the decorations!"

"The food was lovely and the hostess and waiting staff were great, really welcoming and friendly.Unfortunately we had to make a complaint which was not handled very well. I found a piece of meat in my vegan meal, granted the meal was taken away immediately and a new one brought out. However, a man who we presumed was the owner then came over to make a joke asking “any chicken in it? Fish?”, luckily I was ok about it but another vegan may have been very upset about the situation and not have appreciated a joke.Furthermore, we expected that the meal would be knocked off the bill, but the full amount was charged, even down to the coffees we had. We were just placated with a limoncello shot on the house which we did not ask for and wouldn’t have asked for as I had told the hostess I was not drinking because I was driving.I was then shocked and amused to be asked to complete a Google review!Again, great food and menu, and generally very pleasant staff. The atmosphere was also really nice and we enjoyed the evening; but were obviously just disappointed by the unorthodox handling of such a complaint. Otherwise we would absolutely have returned."

"very happy with my order, I had a roast, with beef. I could taste that the beef was fresh had a lovely flavour to it. the veg was really nice, tender, flavour was spot on, I loved the selection carrots are always a win, the cabbage surprised me as its not always what I'd have but it will be now, shredded and tasted peppery which was lovely. the roast were ok I like them a little softer through the centre with a crispy coating they seemed a little flat just a little feedback on those. the Yorkshire pudding was very good risen well and crispy and fluffy not heavy. extras orders was cauliflower cheese very good, mash was good underwhelmed with portion for price, so wouldn't order again. But overall the portion was definitely worth the money without extras!! 100% recommend"

"First time visit to celebrate a birthday. Once we had worked out the car park height restriction and where to get into the restaurant we found staff to be warm and welcoming and very attentive. We had chicken liver parfait to start which was lovely although the brioche toast was tasty but very crumbly. Roast lamb and roast beef for mains as it was Sunday. Meats were nicely cooked. A huge Yorkshire pudding and a good selection of veg. Our only quibble was the roast potatoes more like a baked potato that had perhaps been roasted a little and then kept for a while. Other veg were fine. Desserts sticky toffee was delicious and cheese selection very good. A couple of pints and a glass of wine brought the bill to £84. Nice atmosphere decor was more Hotel than restaurant. Would recommend but would try other dishes next time ."

"It’s been a while since I had a curry as good as this in the UK. Though not on the menu, we could get a plain sweet lassi. The texture, taste and temperature were perfect. The poppadoms were generous and crunchy. The chutney’s were fresh and tasty. Simple but good. This is where many others go wrong. I ordered a single portion of onion bhaji for two. A generous helping of 3 bhajis with a yoghurt sauce. They were light, perfectly cooked and tasty. The following chicken curries were fresh, not too oily and super tasty. They were labeled medium but, to my taste, not hot, yet very well balanced spices and taste. Served with a pilau rice and peshwari nan, both of which were excellent. It’s a vibrant and busy place on a Saturday and the service was friendly, attentive and efficient. You can see the cooking in the open kitchen with a great attention to cleanliness all round.
