"The food was lovely and the hostess and waiting staff were great, really welcoming and friendly.Unfortunately we had to make a complaint which was not handled very well. I found a piece of meat in my vegan meal, granted the meal was taken away immediately and a new one brought out. However, a man who we presumed was the owner then came over to make a joke asking “any chicken in it? Fish?”, luckily I was ok about it but another vegan may have been very upset about the situation and not have appreciated a joke.Furthermore, we expected that the meal would be knocked off the bill, but the full amount was charged, even down to the coffees we had. We were just placated with a limoncello shot on the house which we did not ask for and wouldn’t have asked for as I had told the hostess I was not drinking because I was driving.I was then shocked and amused to be asked to complete a Google review!Again, great food and menu, and generally very pleasant staff. The atmosphere was also really nice and we enjoyed the evening; but were obviously just disappointed by the unorthodox handling of such a complaint. Otherwise we would absolutely have returned."

"First time visit to celebrate a birthday. Once we had worked out the car park height restriction and where to get into the restaurant we found staff to be warm and welcoming and very attentive. We had chicken liver parfait to start which was lovely although the brioche toast was tasty but very crumbly. Roast lamb and roast beef for mains as it was Sunday. Meats were nicely cooked. A huge Yorkshire pudding and a good selection of veg. Our only quibble was the roast potatoes more like a baked potato that had perhaps been roasted a little and then kept for a while. Other veg were fine. Desserts sticky toffee was delicious and cheese selection very good. A couple of pints and a glass of wine brought the bill to £84. Nice atmosphere decor was more Hotel than restaurant. Would recommend but would try other dishes next time ."

"It’s been a while since I had a curry as good as this in the UK. Though not on the menu, we could get a plain sweet lassi. The texture, taste and temperature were perfect. The poppadoms were generous and crunchy. The chutney’s were fresh and tasty. Simple but good. This is where many others go wrong. I ordered a single portion of onion bhaji for two. A generous helping of 3 bhajis with a yoghurt sauce. They were light, perfectly cooked and tasty. The following chicken curries were fresh, not too oily and super tasty. They were labeled medium but, to my taste, not hot, yet very well balanced spices and taste. Served with a pilau rice and peshwari nan, both of which were excellent. It’s a vibrant and busy place on a Saturday and the service was friendly, attentive and efficient. You can see the cooking in the open kitchen with a great attention to cleanliness all round. "I recently had the opportunity to stay at Manor House and wanted to share my thoughts on the overall experience. While the hotel had its positives, there were a few aspects that left me disappointed. Starting with the room, it was clean and well-maintained. The average-sized room provided all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. However, considering the price I paid for the room, I expected a bit more in terms of luxury and modernity. It lacked that extra touch that would have made it truly exceptional. One aspect that stood out during my stay was the exorbitant prices of the alcohol at the hotel's bar. Unfortunately, indulging in a drink or two became a costly affair. The high prices made it difficult to enjoy a casual evening without feeling like I was being taken advantage of. This was a major downside for me, as I believe that reasonable pricing is crucial for a well-rounded hotel experience. On a positive note, the breakfast at Manor House was a delightful experience. The lovely spread of options available was impressive, and the quality of the food was excellent. It was evident that the hotel took pride in offering a satisfying breakfast experience to its guests. However, my experience with one particular waitress with blonde hair left much to be desired. Upon arriving for breakfast at a later time, her attitude towards me was horrendous. Her demeanor was unprofessional and unwelcoming, which significantly impacted my overall impression of the hotel's service. It is important for all staff members to treat guests with respect and courtesy, regardless of the time they arrive for breakfast. In conclusion, my stay at Manor House had its ups and downs. While the room was clean and the breakfast was lovely, the expensive alcohol prices and the horrendous attitude of one particular waitress were disappointing. I would recommend this hotel for its cleanliness and breakfast, but caution potential guests to be prepared for the possibility of encountering less-than-friendly staff members."

"A Wednesday early evening. Disappointing food quality and menu options compared to the pictures on their Facebook page. Must be a change of chef/cook? Previously very good quality food although this was weekend visits. Atmosphere not good with ĺoud swearing individual dropping the f word frequently at the bar. Food served by an individual that wreaked of stale cigarettes. EDIT In response to the owners comments 1) I was not rude. 2) The whole pie was not eaten. The pastry was mainly inedible like concrete cooked twice? 3) Correct, we did not pay for the meal, which was only fair AND you did offer to refund the drinks which I declined as there was nothing wrong with the drinks so I'm being fair. 4) If you had checked back sooner I would have told you there was a problem. In summary it was a poor experience compared to previous visits which I gave good praise for at the time. The food served today was not worthy of a two for a tenner offer I expected better. You also fail to answer the other points raised such as the foul language by a customer when children were present. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2"
