The service was fantastic and the chefs are amazing. My wife liked something on the menu, but didn’t want the accompaniments. We talked to them and they completely changed the dish to suit her requirements. Everything we ate and drank was delicious and the service was superb. And the dessert tasted like New Years Eve! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal! It was well cooked, beautifully presented, and made with ethically sourced ingredients. The service was excellent, and the staff were very helpful. As for vegetarian options, there are a few dishes available, but the majority of the menu focuses on meat. We dined in for dinner, and the price per person was around £70–80.

We booked in for lunch with our one year old, the staff were very attentive the food was first class and they accommodated the little one really well. The smell of the open fire and the low lit rustic atmosphere is what really sets the place off. Highly recommend!! The food was outstanding, scoring a perfect five stars. The service matched the quality of the cuisine—also five stars, attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was equally delightful, creating a perfect backdrop for our evening. I highly recommend trying the Quinta de Azevedo, which was a standout dish and truly memorable.

I have to say it... This might just be the best meal I've ever had in a restaurant. It was so incredible that I couldn't stop thinking about it, and it’s a bit painful to know this place is two hours away from home. The ambiance, service, and overall experience were outstanding. For my order, I had the raviolo filled with wild rabbit and Berkswell cheese, followed by the Sunday lunch special: slow-cooked deer shoulder wrapped in maple-glazed bacon, along with all the accompanying sides, which were wood-fired. The two courses cost £35 per person, with an additional £5 for the deer shoulder special (which was absolutely worth it). I visited in November 2023.

The restaurant is housed in a stunning listed building and focuses on locally sourced ingredients, following a philosophy of field-to-table dining. The à la carte menu is fantastic and is complemented by a well-curated wine list, as well as a selection of spirits and cocktails. Guests can enjoy pre-dinner drinks either at the open bar or in a private dining area, both of which contribute to the unique experience at the Woodsman. The quality of the ingredients is excellent, and it's clear that the chef and his team have put in a lot of effort to create a memorable experience. An excellent restaurant that made a perfect venue for our intimate wedding! Where to start, the staff were amazing, the venue was stunning and the food was out of this world. We used the library as a reception room, moving onto the feasting room for food and retiring to the sung to relax and enjoy the rest of the evening with our guests. The food was amazing, in true feasting quantities and had a great variety served in a family style of help yourselves from the delectable selections, catering to the dietary requirements of our wedding party.
