"I went here for lunch with 2 colleagues today. We were the first ones to arrive, they had just opened the doors. We were greeted with an amazing smile by a very friendly young lady, who really made us feel welcome and at home. The...venue is a mix of restaurent, café and bar in trendy Eppendorf, next to U Bahn Eppendorfer Baum . The menu has a great choice (also for vegetarians) and all our chosen dishes were excellent. Drinks were also very good and the service purely outstanding. A real good choice for a lunch and paying just over 70 € for 3 was a very fair deal. We will be back for sure!"

This place was THE local place to go! We had dinner one night and went back for coffee and drinks on two more occasions. The food is simple but honest. The wine list offers many good values, especially on german wines. coffee and single malt...cheap too! :

I seem to be on a 5 star roll in Hamburg...not a bad problem to have. This stupendous restaurant is a romantic, beautiful neighbourhood and the outdoor seating is comfortable and atmospheric. The food and service could not be better and be sure to try...the pork cheek with blueberries. Sensational.

The concierge at our hotel, Marco Perkuhn, had recommended this place as the best one for Wiener Schnitzel in Hamburg and it turned out to be true! It is a relatively small restaurant, away from the city center, with mainly German clientele, tables for two...or four, friendly and efficient service and reasonable prices.

Recently went back after not having been in a year and Tiefenthal is probably still one of my favorite places in Hamburg. The food is great, the service perfect (they seem to maintain their staff over a long period of time as opposed to many...other places) and the atmosphere in the bar, the restaurant and the garden is great. I will be back again.

Staff were friendly and efficient, and a good choice...of food. It was a bit more expensive than I usually pay for a restaurant like this, but probably normal by Hamburg standards.
