"Went in for the very first time today and ordered two coffees and a cake. I was left waiting ages. There were only two other couples who were already served and eating their food. The woman who served me couldn't put two and two together...and work out that we had no drinks or food, instead conversing with a colleague and ignoring me when I approached the counter to politely ask for some water with my order. I enjoyed the food and coffee, but the customer service was non existent. I hope the owners read this review because if it had been my business, I would have got rid of her. You don't leave/ignore customers who have paid for food, only for them to have to ask where its got to. She didn't even apologise!"

delicious food, friendly staff. that is not the only bakery in reeth. there is another, old-fashioned, but also good, a short walk away on the silver street. both are excellent. thetwo dales is the only one with seating.

beautiful bakery with friendly staff, but too expensive for takeaway food. the steak pipe was ok, but honestly, the brownie was the worst ever. very dry, strange taste and the Coco powder on the aid does not improve. Sorry when we were looking forward to this bakery. Visualizza piatti

We chanced upon this by accident when stopping in Reeth for lunch. We both had roast pepper and tomato soup, totally delicious. And finished of with pastries, where we were spoilt for choice. We saat outside in the sun, sheltered from any wind, and felt...truly blessed.

Called in today half way around our ten mile loop walk. Wow! What a welcome. The young man, immediately offered to refill our water bottles, even added some sneaky Ribena, much to.my daughters delight! We had coffee, babychino and a brioche muffin. The muffin was...recommended to us and a good choice Delicious, with home made jam! Definitely on our to do list when we return in December! Visualizza piatti

Lovely small cafe with indoor and outdoor seating and dog friendly. We had a latte and tuna mayo sourdough bap which came with a generous portion of potato salad. It was all very yummy Brought home a steak pie, sausage roll and a piece of...brownie for our tea, all equally yummy. Staff were lovey, and great to see covid protocols were still being observed Would highly recommend. Will definitely return

Stopped here as the road to Cumbria was blocked through snow further up and daughter and I needed a stop off. Lovely and I must say unexpected contemporary cafe with plenty of options for a snack or light lunch. Bought some sourdough bread too and...can’t wait to cut into it. Had a little chat about real bread with the owner/baker who was very attentive to our needs and made sure we had a good visit. Highly recommend 2 Dales Bakery. A local independent business located just outside of Reeth on the road to Kirkby Stephen.

"We arrived frazzled because we drove around the grounds in the dark not knowing where to go. The signage inside the grounds is no help at all. Allow time for this if you haven't been before. Fortunately we had because we wanted a pre dinner drink in the bar before we ate. Even when we did arrive we weren't sure if we had arrived at the back entrance because we stood for ages with no welcome or acknowledgement. A very disappointing start to our evening. When someone did come they didn't take our coats. We went through to the snug for a drink. They gave us menus and went away. Later came back for our order. We got our drinks and ordered our food. Then very quickly afterwards we were asked to go through to the restaurant. We had only had a couple of sips of our drinks and it was still prior to the time we had actually booked our table for (7.30pm). We felt rushed. The food came and was fabulous. I had the beetroot starter which had beautifully cooked beetroots and some pickles. It also had a grain through it. I couldn't remember what the grain was so asked a member of staff. She didn't know so went away to ask and came back saying it was probably buckwheat....probably! My main was pork belly with parsnip and an apple reduction. The pork could have been cooked a little longer. I think belly needs to be very well cooked until really soft. The top skin was impossible to cut through as it was not crisp, I couldn't eat it. A steak knife would have helped. Having said that it was still a good dish which could have been excellent. We had sides of mashed potato and greens with pickles both superb. The presentation of both dishes was innovative and inviting. Portion size was good too not tiny portions of fiddled with food which I much prefer. The service was not as polished as the food. There was no obvious manager and we had different servers which is never quite as good as one for the entire meal. The servers were scruffy not appropriate for such a lovely building. Overall it was OK but could have been superb with more attention to some details. Service: 2 Location: 3"
