"Very happy we stopped at the Kartoffelhaus. I am amazed how many delicious dishes the lowly, underrated potato can produce. Seating a bit tight, but nice atmosphere inside. Weather permitting, outside seating is even better, as the restaurant is in the heart of a pedestrian only area, in the middle of the square. Wonderful to have a good meal and watch the world go by at the same time. The potato pancakes with apple sauce, were THE best I have ever tasted. Crisp on the outside, not greasy, but moist and light on the inside. My sister had potato gratin with spinach, she said was too watery. I also had a baked potato with all the trimmings, but that is an American favorite we are all familiar with. Still a great, tasty satisfying dish. Service friendly, prices acceptable."

A first plus point was also that the food there was relatively fast (I think it didn't take 30 minutes for us four, including two appetizers, and the driver was very friendly. The menu (which can also be loaded as a PDF file on the computer is really very extensive, there are many appetizers (deliveries, salads, early stage rolls, etc.). also a wide selection of main dishes with duck, chicken, pig, cattle or fish or seafood and also many sushis under which you can choose. Lunch menus are also a little cheaper and there is a free soup.
