Wunderschönes Ambiente vor allem, wenn man im idyllischen Gastgarten sitzen kann. Feine elegante Küche mit regionalen Zutaten. Kompetenter und herzlicher Service. Die Weine vom eigenen Weingut sind sowieso bekannt: Weißweine mit Charakter.

Das Essen ist ebenso schmackhaft, wie das Services freundlich und aufmerksam . Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Am Morgen im entzückenden Gastgarten ein hervorragendes Frühstück genossen. Sogar unsere Hunde haben sofort frisches Wasser bekommen. Die Preise sind ein wenig üppig, aber an das hohe Niveau angepasst. Die Zimmer sind wirklich schön und sehr sauber. Erholung pur.

We had a dinner with ten friends, outside, following a wine tasting. We were all very pleased. Great food, great service. Beautiful setting... outside looking up at a Roman ruin (dreamy). GREAT meal, and we are all big time foodies we weren't even that...hungry having spent the day tasting our way through the Wachau Valley, and yet, we were excited and persuaded to eat everything. We decided to combine lunch with riceling tasting and it was perfect. I wish I could remember the name of our server as he is the one who suggested it and made it. Menus are not in English, so we started with his translations. The food is... traditional Austrian dishes updated by a remarkably talented cook. The venison was particularly delicious. Because we also wanted to taste the Nigl ricelings, we shared glasses with different styles. They were all really remarkable and because we say they are available in the USA, we plan to enjoy them when we find them! Very recommended. Thanks again to our amazing server that has helped to create the perfect lunch place for us.

This was our second time at dinner at the Nigl's Popup Restaurant in Krems, and it was all as wonderful as our first visit last week on Valentine's Day. Both times we chose the 4-course dinner with wine pairings. Both times we were impressed with the attention to detail that Chef Bertram pays the preparation and presentation of the food from his kitchen. Also impressive was the service we received from our server Kristof. He shared his extensive knowledge of the wines cast for each course and told us about the grapes, the winemaking process and the details of the harvest. We came to Restaurant Nigl for a traditional Austrian, alfresco lunch in lovely surroundings. The restaurant location with the views of the vineyards and old Roman Ruins above could not have been a better backdrop to the classic, executed to perfection, Austria dishes from son,...Bertram's kitchen. The Barlauch soup was the hit of the day followed closely by the Tafelspitz with Barlauch spinach and a couple fish dishes. The white wine was served cold crisp. Our server, Fabian, could have been more attentive, friendly helpful. So what happens after a lovely two hour lunch? You hike up to the ruins.
