"My partner and I visited Ludlow on a cold Saturday lunchtime in November. After searching through the Market and side streets for a place to eat, we stumbled upon Ye Olde Bull Ring Tavern. The beautiful Black and White building caught our eye, standing out among the other eateries in the area. Despite it only being 11:40am, we were both hungry as we had skipped breakfast. The menu offered a variety of classic pub dishes, with an emphasis on burgers. The prices were reasonable, so I opted for a Bacon Cheese Burger with upgraded fries, while my partner chose the Ham, egg and Chips. The food was delicious and satisfying, and we were pleased with the quality and portion sizes. I enjoyed a pint of Cruzcampo Lager while my partner had a coffee. To our surprise, the total bill came to less than £35, which we found to be great value for money. Overall, we had a fantastic dining experience at Ye Olde Bull Ring Tavern and would highly recommend it to others."

Spot on with the food, it was most enjoyable. Bar staff are all friendly and efficient. All in all a lovely relaxed atmosphere. I would highly recommend a visit here if you are in Ludlow.

I had dinner at this restaurant and ordered the steak pie, which was served on a hot plate and was excellent. It was a quiet night, but the service was great. I would definitely recommend this place and will visit again when I am in the area.

Sunday lunch delicious but only just warm not hot,had to ask for gravy as every other table did. The gravy was piping hot. Didn’t complain as a lady on another table did and her plate took an age to come back. We are on holiday and always eat here usually in the week and have Faggots but I’m dubious about going back in the week and having the faggots we always look forward to.

I ordered belly pork and my wife scamp. After ordering the table behind me complained about their belly pork so I was dubious, however when it arrived it was delicious. Pity I could not say the same about my wife's meal. She had to send it back as her chips were still frozen. When the meal returned they were still hard and some of the peas were still frozen. Not good value at £16.95, at that price you expect proper prepared chips not frozen. Visualizza piatti

This restaurant is clearly a favorite among locals. It's one of the few places in town that serves dinner on a Tuesday without any events going on. The menu offers a variety of well-cooked dishes with generous portions. We all enjoyed our meals and drinks. The only downside was the limited dessert options, as they had run out of the ones we wanted. Despite this, we would be happy to come back again. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and hardworking.

Very impressed standing outside wondering about an evening meal. Especially seeing ‘Try Shropshire Faggots’. So we went away, to specially return for an evening meal. Yep, I ordered a pint of local ale, very acceptable. Then the faggots, while my wife ordered a Red Thai curry. Full marks for presentation. Less so for the actual meals. It was OK. Acceptable. Though my wife’s comment was that she had a somewhat basic curry, but certainly was not Red Thai. The staff were helpful. The prices reasonably. Probably a place for locals to use for a quick meal. Rather than a place to use for a celebration.

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."

"Open since 1970 and located on Mardol, one of Shrewsbury’s oldest streets @thecurryhouseshrewsbury serves locally sourced ingredients married with traditional spices and chillies from the Indian subcontinent, a match made in heaven. 5 5 Recommended Price No better way to kick off proceedings but with popadoms, chutneys and fresh onion salad. On to appetisers and there are so many tempting dishes to choose with many of these exclusive to the curry house. Our first time trying Pani Puri. A sweet and spicy hot street food snack filled with chickpeas and tamarind sat on a bed of crunchy, nutty Bombay mix. With a building but pleasant heat, definitely something everyone should try. The quality and freshness of the seafood was exceptional. Spicy king prawns were huge and cooked to perfection. Charred on the outside for flavour but juicy and meaty. Trio of King scallops were beautifully tender and of a good size with sweetness from the tamarind liquor. Lamb rogan Josh tender lamb shoulder in a medium hot ginger tomato and onion sauce. A strong take on a traditional favourite of ours. Fresh from the Tandoor a generous mix of marinaded chicken, lamb, king prawns and a chargrilled lamb chop. The Tandoori deluxe massalla sauce was the perfect blend of sweetness melting into a subtle heat which brought the dish together perfectly. The curry house takes traditional dishes and flavours from the Indian subcontinent and elevates them to a level beyond expectations. Thank you for our invite to share the exciting menu created with passion and creativity. If you are looking for a curry house with a difference this is the place for you. #theshropshirefoodies #foodblog #foodstagram #shrewsbury #shropshire #restaurantreview #foodjournal #foodblogger #instafood"

"Fantastic range of small dishes and meals for lunch and dinner. The menu ranges from scandi to oriental, so something for everyone. The menu is clearly marked with allergens, including what meals can be adapted. The chicken is halal and vegan and vegetarian options are plentiful. The cocktail and mocktail menu is great and they do one of the best espresso martinis in Shrewsbury. The decor is modern and comfortable and there is plenty of space. As a wheelchair user, I can get into the ground floor and to a table. The outside seats are up a small step, but the whole front of the building is a retractable wall of windows, so I can still get the feeling of eating outside in good weather. The service is friendly and knowledgeable about allergies, the menu and the wine list. The staff are helpful and unobtrusive. The only difficulty for me (hence the 4 star review) is that the accessible bathroom is next door, in their sister bar, Libertine. Unfortunately, libertine isn't open the same hours as HotRS, so I can only use it at certain times. The ladies does have a lock on the door, so staff have cleared the ladies toilets, which allowed me to take my chair in and lock the door. I had to walk a couple of steps to get into a stall but my chair was safely with me. Of course, there is also no alarm cord, but they stood outside the door so would have heard if I shouted for help."
