Super delicious food, prepared with fresh ingredients and totally nice service that also reacts to Reorders Flexbiel. Nicely decorated with a very cozy atmosphere. Recommended!

It was my first time in an Indian (Asian) restaurant. The stuff is welcoming. The service is fast. The meal was vary tasty. The menu contains a vast variety of different dishes. Didn't expect a Thai beer to be that good. Had a great time.

Banmaai is a wonderful Thai restaurant with Ambiente, top service and most of all a menu of Thai wok and curry dishes that must find its equal in Germany let alone Kiel. While out walking, we happened to pass by. Read the menu and thought we'd give it a try. BEST DECISION EVER! Food and presentation was magnificent and the service was stellar. I had red curry with chicken and my companion had the Thai tiger shrimp. We had the mixed appetizer. All was delightful. If you're in Kiel, try this place. You won't be disappointed!

Just a few minutes walk from the Steinberget hotel in Kiel we found this Thai restaurant. The food was very good and the staff was nice and service minded. Strange then that payment by credit card was not possible. As guests we were put in an embarrasing situation since credit cards is normal world wide. After driving in Germany, Austria and Italy for ten days this was the first time we had to pay the restaurant bill in cash. Diffucult to understand this policy.

Banmaai was recommended to us by our Airbnb hosts and it became my highlight of Kiel. The decor is superb, and the ambience nice and chilled. I ordered a green curry and was blown away by it - it's almost as good as the ones I had in Thailand. My boyfriend went for the Pad Thai and same goes there. Since we're both vegetarian we were happy to see a lot of veggie options, and the price was good. I went back for lunch and ordered something I had no idea of, and was equally impressed. 2nd visit, been generally disappointing has what seems to be all good things nice decor ..glass wall into kitchen (looked like Thai Chief's) but service and waiting for drinks very and I do mean very slow ...last time there the food arrived before drink ordered when sat down !! after some time calling for reservation from new opening time and always get fully booked, today we ware there on Thursday without reservation and we got a table, the restaurant is not full at all. We had starters with shrimps sauer soup & chicken cocos soup, that was all ok. The main courses was not the right choice when we had Tuna Steak with salat and souse in Thai art, and Thai chicken curry... they are not like we expected, the fish was very hard, no taste and dry, the souse is very salty so we have to take a lot of rice together. Banmaai is a very modern looking Thai restaurant in Kiel, just a few minutes walk off of the harbour-side.It was a very warm evening at the time of our visit and almost the whole of the façade was opened up to let in a gentle breeze. On the interior the rattan wall work gives a natural, minimalist but a comfortable, modern feel. Bliss, and that's before the food was served.The food options are very good and you can't go wrong with Tom Ka Gai to start with, and for mains, the Gai Pad Prik Thai Gratiem is amazing !If you are looking for a beer, then you are in safe hands with a choice of local fare and some bottled Thai as well.
