"Family lunch for my husbands birthday, I don’t actually know where to begin, we sat on a table outside and went in to order our food and drinks, 3 of us had cheeses burgers and chips, 1 full English breakfast, 1 jacket potato with cheese and coleslaw, 1. Jacket potato with prawns and a child’s fish chips and peas, 3 diet cokes an orange juice a Ribena and a coffee all coming to over £85. Our burgers had no salad or any garnish or any sauce, said on the menu it came with salad, full English was dry plain no butter on the toast, not very good value for money considering it cost £12 everything dumped on top of the toast. The only meals that actually looked good were the jacket potato and my granddaughters fish chips and peas. Very over priced for the quality of the food. I came here a few years ago and the food was amazing, such a shame."

Lovely breakfast as usual and very good value. Excellent customer service, nothing is too much trouble. Always very popular.

All of us ordered the Carats breakfast which has loads of options. All turned up together and was fresh and well cooked. Really great choice on the menu and a great position.

The food is OK but had to wait forever for staff to make me hot chocolate after them going on and on about being in a hurry to close. I think they had forgotten us but there was no apology.

Excellent breakfast. Quick service, food hot, tasty and plentiful. And excellent value for money. Staff friendly, tables cleaned quickly between customers. Couldn 't ask for more. The polar opposite of a trendy café in Brighton where we had brunch the day before.

Expensively disappointing. Food was poor fish and scampi were not fresh. Salad was limp Service from kids who clearly didn’t want to be there. Prices far outweighs the quality of the food. Shame, we’ve had fab visits in the past but is seems Carats is past its sell by date.

We went to Carat's Cafe today for lunch. My sister had the Carat's breakfast but the mushrooms were missing. They said they would follow but after having to remind them she had eaten her breakfast before they arrived. I had a bacon and egg sandwich which was cold but I had to eat half as I had to take medication before eating. I told them this and asked for a replacement but because I had started eating it they refused saying they could heat it in the microwave!!! I've been here on and off for a long time but the standards have gone down dramatically.

Both coffee and food were awful. Coffees were cold and so weak that they just tasted like luke warm milk. Jacket potato was cold and under cooked. Coronation chicken topping was basically curried sultanas literally 2 tiny bits of chicken. £52 for 4 x jacket potato with coffee, which was a total waste of money. If this place wasn't on the sea no one would eat/drink here. My advice is walk along the coast then take your custom elsewhere, unless you enjoy paying a decent amount of money for horrible food and drink!. Such a disappointment as we were taking our mums out for lunch. We will now try to find a nice place for cakeand coffee now to cheer them up!

Came here for brunch, there’s inside and outside seating, we chose inside. Rather confusing, it’s not made clear whether you order at the counter or at the table. We ordered at the counter, even more confusingly there is a small menu on a blackboard which you think is the whole menu, which it isn’t, there are actually menus with a lot more things on them. We ordered a vegy breakfast, a burger and a normal breakfast, all were ok nothing special and lots of things are charged as extras; mushrooms, fresh tomatoes etc. Also mine wasn’t very hot. The coffee was the best thing, overall disappointing, they need to make it much clearer to customers, where and how to order and make the full menu wide...

We went for a beautiful Day at the beach here today and we got hungry around lunch time so decided to buy some take away burgers to eat on the beach. I will post the pictures so you can see the proof , this cafe serves basically food for rats. Wouldn't even feed my dogs with this!!!! Me My daughter ended up eating the chips so I didn't go back to make a complaint but this is absolutely not acceptable. Firstly, I asked for 2 chicken burgers and a beef burger, my daughter is not allowed to eat beef, so her meat went straight to the bin. Paid £10.95 for her to eat chips salt. There's no lettuce/ salad nothing in the burger, but they charge £10.95 for it. Even the chips looked absolutely disgust...

"Whilst wondering this lovely little town, we wondered what we should grab to eat. We thought we would play it safe by going to a non-commercial but traditional Italian restaurant. However, whilst the menu may feel like you’re sitting in Italy, there is nothing safe...about the quality of this food! I should first of all acknowledge just how receptive and warming they were to the fact that we had two infants who were part of our party. They did everything they can to make sure that they were smiling as much as we were, and able to squeeze in our buggy and luggage accordingly. The food though was absolutely delicious. The folded garlic and cheese balls to start were absolutely delicious, and oozing of salty chewiness. However both of the monk fish main courses that came out were absolutely outstanding, with very fleshy and generously portion size pieces of fish. The veal Milanese was perfectly crispy and moist in the middle. The infant size pizza was generous portion size. All of it was cooked fresh and served warm. The only thing which frustrated me was the lack of wine options that you can order by the glass. I do understand why restaurants don’t make all of their wines available, but as the only one drinking I would have liked more than just a Pino for white wine options. But this isn’t a restaurant for alcohol, this is a restaurant for well cooked food for all occasions. If I am in the area again I would easily eat here"
