The food is delicious, served hot and perfectly seasoned. The atmosphere and service are lovely! If you enjoy steaks, this is the perfect place to dine.

This restaurant never disappoints - the food is always absolutely delicious and a real treat. I love coming here and will definitely be back many times in the future. The steak is the best around!

Found it on Tripadvisor and went with friends from llandeilo who weren’t familiar with Dexters. We took a chance and it certainly paid off. Probably the best steak I’ve ever had. Caesar salad accompaniment perfect. Chips great. Service excellent.decor and lighting sooo good you feel like your in a medieval cavern. Cool toilets and not too intrusive music. This was our first dining experience in Carmarthen and we really enjoyed it. We rarely eat steak any more but Dexters proved it can be done well. The meat was cooked exactly as we both asked for, marinaded or cooked in a delicious flavouring and melted in your mouth. It was simply presented but that did not detract from how delicious it was. Our waitress was attentive and made us feel very welcome. We would certainly recommend this dining experience.

We visited Dexter’s whilst on holiday locally. The food was fantastic, flat iron steak was cooked to perfection and the sauces on the side were really tasty. We have eaten steak at a Michelin star resturant in New York and both said the steak at Dexter’s was much nicer and the sides were better too. Drinks are a little pricey but you don’t mind paying it because the food is so good. Puddings we’re also incredible, I recommend the rum baba and biscoff sundae. Would visit again if we revisit the area and will be recommending to family to stay locally.

Carmarthen for lunch after booking ahead. Really close to Friar's Car Park which was a boon. Plenty of choice on the menu and accommodated my need for an entree for a starter (the calamri which was yum) and a starter for my main. After asking what the cheese souffle came with, I was told it was quite filling so a salad would be good. Husband had the lamb which was fabulously tender and moist, and came with dauphonoise potatoes. Plenty of choice on the menu with gluten free and veggie/vegan food as well. The food at this restaurant was delicious and the service was very fast. We placed our order within minutes of arriving. Unfortunately, one of the starters we wanted was already sold out, but we were not informed of this before ordering. We both ordered steak, which was cooked perfectly. The peppercorn sauce was especially tasty. However, there was a lot of liquid that came out of the steak, which was not my preferred way of having it. One thing that made me uncomfortable was the display of large slabs of meat hanging from butchers' hooks in the restaurant. This is a personal preference, but not everyone wants to see the carcass of an animal while they are eating.

We stumbled upon this lovely restaurant after my graduation and we were so pleasantly surprised! Restaurant was busy but didn’t feel crowded and the service was wonderful. Food was excellent and steaks cooked perfectly the way we ordered them. We had the fillet steak and a ribeye with bordelaise sauce, cheddar mash and green beans and a lamb croquette to start. We would have had one each, but they only had one left. Completely understand why it was lovely. The sides were also glorious and I finished the bowl of cheddar mash with a spoon. Visited with my wife for a Sunday evening dinner. Still plenty of diners do on Sunday evening that’s got to be a good sign. Really like the style and atmosphere of the place. All the staff were very friendly and competent. Now the highlight the food! To start I had the crab dressed in mayonnaise with mango and my wife had the duck and orange pate both absolutely delicious. My wife had roast chicken with dauphinois potatoes for her main and thoroughly enjoyed it, I had fillet cooked perfect medium rare, wonderfully seasoned and caramelised on the outside with triple cooked chips (appear to be real homemade ones not frozen) and a blue cheese butter and the flavour in that steak was incredible....
